Elena Nordé is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. She is a multi-talented artist, and her music ranges from R&B and Pop to Gospel.Elena’s fourth Christmas was highlighted by the unparalleled gift of a microphone. With the receipt of that gift, the emergence of her need to sing became apparent. Elena and her mother soon began performing singing duets as entertainment at family functions, and singing swiftly progressed from being a hobby to becoming an aspiration to be accomplished. After auditioning, Elena was chosen to become a member of Horizon - a Christian girls vocal group that had been cultivated within her church. For the next 2 years, she would sing and record with Horizon. During that time, the group produced a CD that was followed by a tour. Horizon’s eventual split in 2002 had no detrimental effect on Elena’s resolve to pursue a singing career. Elena’s experience as a member of Horizon served only to further solidify her longing to be a part of the music industry.Following her departure from Horizon at the age of 16, Elena began to fully unearth herself musically as she began to collaborate with local rap groups and aspiring producers. As a high school student, Elena was bestowed with the honor of being invited to sing the National Anthem at all of her high school events. During her last year of high school her songs, always complete with captivating hooks, could be heard throughout the hallways via the school’s intercom system. Elena had the distinct pleasure of performing at her Senior prom and was voted “most likely to get a record deal†by her fellow students. In 2004, Elena attended Georgia Southern University and soon acquired a reputation on campus as “the girl who could singâ€. In time, she was being asked to perform at many school functions. By the end of 2005, she enjoyed her first real break. Through her reconnection with Bernard “Lil’ Nard†Rosser, an aspiring producer she had worked with in high school, Elena was invited to a Grand Hustle Christmas party. It was there that Elena met Big Kuntry King, a well-known Southern rapper, who was starting to benefit from a certain amount of recognition within the music industry. He invited her to sing on one of his songs, “Cocaine,†with the intent of getting a sense of her voice as his only objective. However, he was so impressed with what he heard that within a couple of months the song, complete with Elena’s vocal contribution, was included on his anticipated mix tape.Since then, Elena has worked with other artists such as RL from NEXT, Carl Thomas, and J Holiday, to name a few. Currently, Elena is working on her own CD in addition to writing for other artists.
