About Me

I spend my days writing front-end code for lots of little bitty websites and a few big ones too, all owned by one huge company no one has ever heard of even though it's been around for over 80 years.

I rarely watch TV. I have not watched broadcast shows in years. Eventually I might buy a few on DVD. Any references to what happened on some show will be completely lost on me.

I like to read although my personal library collection is mostly made up a few items by several hundred authors as I aquired the bulk of it by buying all the remaining stock (several thousand books) of a bookstore that went out of business about a decade ago. I've since read all of them, a few of them repeatedly because I'm weird like that.

I own a 1980 Hondamactic 400 motorcycle that has been sitting in my garage in another state for entirely too many years. I plan to correct this by the summer. (This Sunday!!)

I love to travel. I've been to France once, on two cruises (Grand Cayman & Jamaica, Nassau & the Bahamas), and Ireland six times. This year I'm hoping to add another cruise (Bermuda), and yet another trip to Ireland, possibly two more. I travel often domestically as well, usually to celtic rock gigs and Irish Fests around the Mid West. I've several of those planned for this year so far. Check my calendar for details.

Reading, mostly sci-fi, fantasy, and historical fiction. (Bring me elf-like people. If you can put them in space ships, even better. Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, you rule.); kung fu; digital photography; traveling; spending far too much time and money at Neo ; catching live celtic music at the best Irish pub in the Chicagoland area, Ballydoyle Pub

More bands to take photos of? That does seem to be how I spend all of my time already. :) Other live music photographers would be interesting.

Who I'm not looking to meet:

Total strangers for dating or more. I'm only interested in dating a very small number of people and I prefer them to be local. Meeting new people tends to freak me out so if we don't already know someone in common, your chances are pretty much zero. People in unhappy relationships. I get a lot of messages from men who are unhappy with their wives or girlfriends or whatever. Before you respond with "but aren't you married?" - Yes, I am and he knows what I'm doing. People who don't bother to fill out any info on their profile and/or seem to be collecting "hot girls". Perhaps you could expand upon that "Hi!" message you are thinking about sending me and tell me what you think we might have in common, demonstrate you actually read a bit of my profile.
