About Me

I've been producing hip-hop beats since the beginning of the nineties and have been a member of the London based hip-hop production Beyond There trio alongside Dj Kam (Netgroove, Lowlife records) and Huw 72 (72 records). We have had tracks released with Mr Complex, Bizmarkie, T-Love, Tony Vegas (Scratch Perverts), L-Fudge, Andrea Parker, Unsung Heroes, Siah, Ken Boogaloo (Wee Bee Foolish), Yungun, Jehst, Arcee, Dave Badjah, Diversion Tactics, L'roneous and more. We have appeared on labels such as Mo Wax, Om, Bomb, Hombre, Astralwerks, Ninja Tunes, Blindside (Where's our dosh Richard?), Scenario, Meifumado, Fat City as well as Huw 72's own 72 Records.I have also been djing since the mid eighties and have played in many clubs around the UK and Europe. I play a combination of hip-hop, funk, breaks and what ever I fancy, keeping it funky but not corny except for the ocassional slice of vintage srong cheddar cheese. It's strictly vinyl for me at the moment but never say never.

My Interests

If I am stressed there is nothing better than chopping up a break on the SP, god my life is an adventure. I like playing footie and for anyone from the US reading this .... It's not called Soccer! I like a good corny gag as well that's probably why Tufkut is in my friends page. Prone goes too far though. I like other stuff as well. People watching is great. I work in the perfect place for that. There are plenty of entertaining freaks coming through the doors of the Exchange and that's just the employees.

I'd like to meet:

I've met most my hip-hop heroes now but it would be nice to shake Primo's hand.

Music:

Hip-hop, funk, breaks, cheesy listening, fusion, soul, reggae, brazilian, psych rock, punk funk and over the top rock balads. I tried Kareoke on a friends PS2 the other day and all I could manage with my vocal range was Simple Minds and I can't stand them. I hate most 80's music except party music in crap films... With lyrics like "You can make it if you try!!" and old hip-hop. I still buy new underground hip-hop, please help me to not be the only one by buying some too. I'm currently liking Maspyke, half of the tracks on Ghostface's 2 lps last year (how about a Finest Fish lp?), Asamov, the latest Clipse lp, UN, Quazar (Typical Cats), Lewis Parker, Modil, Binkis Recs, L-roneous, Erm and Beyond There of course. I am also doing a project with a talented London MC who appears on the new Breakin Bread lp as Darwin. One day I'll get round to releasing the 2 tracks I recorded with the incredible Lewis Parker. Sorry Lewis!

Movies:

Anything non CGI blockbuster Hollwood bullshiznit. People are far more interesting then pixels unless you are a computer geek. Thankyou George Mucus for ruining my fond memories of Sci-fi films past.

Television:

I did rather get into Lost, but I know that after the 2nd series I am just going to feel lost. Chris Morris is a genius so are John LeMesuirier and Arthur Lowe.

Books:

What's a book? Asterix and Tin Tin. I really should step up my reading game.

Heroes:

Kermit, Primo, J-Dilla (RIP), Pete Rock (although I kind of wish I'd never met him), GW Theoore, Paul C, Rakim, Redman, Ramellzee, Charles Stepnie, Axelrod, Jim Henson, Clint Eastwood, Jazzy Jay, Jazzy Jeff, Bi i i i izmarkie, Fred Quimby, Derek Smalls, Peter Sellers, Edward "Oh lord nooo!" Woodward and Jules C.
