DUANE ZESTDJs Duane Farr and Dylan O'ByrneDuane Zest - Crate Digger and DJ alongside AKA The Grooveheads alongside fellow Zest DJ Dylan O'Byrne (Electica). Duane is the founder of Zest Entertainment DJ Agency – www.zestdj.com Thanks to the notice board in Record Collectors shop Guildford these guys hooked up when Duane placed a notice looking for local DJs for his fledgling enterprise, which he launched in the summer of 2003. Since the launch of the DJ agency Dylan has played at Zest promoted events then began to team up with Duane due to common interests in music tastes and private parties when the occasions arose.Dylan and Duane gel well together when DJing:"Our DJ sets are funky and eclectic, ranging from Rare Groove and Disco to classic Hip Hop and upfront soulful RnB with a sprinkling of groovyliscious House and Jazzy beats!" “The emphasize is on a block party vibe plus we are able to adapt to the desire of any dance floor!” Dylan’s background is House which he mixes seamlessly, while Duane is no master of beat matching so his forte is tune selection with an hear for a good party groove!Dylan and Duane between them have played at many lush venues and exclusive events in London, Surrey and Berkshire. For occasions such as launch parties, birthdays, New Years Eve and New Polo Season Celebration.“One of our most enjoyable parties was DJing at Hurtwood Park Polo Country Club, Ewhurst, Surrey which is owned by Kenny Jones – drummer for The Who and The Small Faces. This was Good Friday and to our surprise there were PlayBoy Bunnies and Pole Dancers! Ah well perks of the job eh!” Another memorable event was for promoter and club owner Will Burns at the Berrystede Hotel, Ascot at the New Years Eve party. Our influences and play list includes songs by these many great artists:Marlena Shaw James Brown Masters At Work Stevie Wonder Max Sedgely Chaka Khan Gnarls Barkley Jackson Sisters OutKast Michael Jackson Wookie De La Soul Salsoul Records Bugz In The Attic Amy Whinehouse Jocelyn Brown Diana Ross Jamiroquai Lyn Collins Maceo and The Macks Brass Construction Minnie Ripperton Chic Ashford and Simpson Dexter Wansel Nuyorican Soul Roy Ayers Kool and the Gang Angie Stone Freda Payne Lee Dorsey The Trammps Ce Ce Peniston Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five The list goes on….Dylan on our Eclectic Groove style – “I enjoy collecting records and finding out about music from past and present. I like to play music from a different variety of styles in a cohesive blend combining the familiar with the unfamiliar.” “I bought my first decks about 10 years ago when I was in to Techno and Trance. I became a serious record collector in 1996 when I started buying Eclectic Beats from labels such as Ninja Tunes, Mo'Wax and Yellow Productions alongside funky house from Nuphonic, MAW Records, Chilli Funk and Paper. Over time I have also picked up 60s and 70s Jazz, Soul, Funk and Disco from reissue labels like Harmless, BGP and BBE and original rare releases. I have played House, Eclectic Breaks, Soul, Jazz and Funk together and separately, mainly in bars but also for club dancefloors.”Duane and Dylan are also booked for their unique party grooves for exclusive functions for Polo clubs, hotels and Universities.Duane’s inspirations: “Influences on the style of music I specialize in include Break Dance - the movie, Hip Hop - A Street History, London's Notting Hill Carnival, DJs Norman Jay MBE, DJ KCC, Grandmaster Flash plus my old Guildford crew Connected Vibes / Melting Pot Massive - KJ, Jazz Jon, Richie Jay also Jazz T (Diversion Tactics / DMC) and DJ Prone.”Venues and events include:LONDON Cargo – Creative Media Networking Event for East London Montuno's - Shoreditch High Street – Sex in the City party Bar Sia –Wimbledon – SQUEEZE PROMOTIONS Bar Oblivion, Clapham.Berrystede Hotel - Ascot JAM Entertainment NYE Jagz- Ascot – alongside Funk and Jazz bands Mango – Reading SQUEEZE PROMOTIONSThe Station – Woking – Zest Entertainment Launch Party Ha, Ha Bar Guildford – Saturday guest set and Thursday residency Pews Bar -Melting Pot / Connected Vibes Guildford Tup Melting Pot / Connected VibesHeywoods - Sidetraked Studios party Scratched, Woking - SQUEEZE Archees – DJ Competition Bojanglez -Guildford – Loft club night Five and Lime – Eclectica Sunday SessionsAswell as on the South Coast Dylan's Bar - Bournemouth University Bar Bluu – DEVILISH DELIGHTS Rhino's – SouthamptonThe Groove Heads are on the roster of UK based DJ agency Zest Entertainment of which Duane Farr is the founder of.WEBSITES FEATURING THE DUO:www.zestdj.com/dj/agency/home.phpwww.zestdj.com/dj/agenc y/dj-dylan-o-byrne.phpwww.zestdj.com/dj/agency/dj-duane-faro -farr.phpwww.dontstayin.com/parties/zestdjcomwww.djpages.com /djasp/index.htm?index.asp?djid=6295 DJ Duane Farr @DJ Pages (DMC)available for bookings at Nightclubs, Student Unions, Summer Festivals plus corporate and private events please call Duane direct on 01202 576 654 or email zestent@aolDOTcom
