About Me

.......active as a musician/ producer and DJ since the heady days of the 70’s in Melbourne Australia where he was keyboardist for many groups, cheifly Beargarden and briefly The Models and was part of Michael Hutchences ’Max Q’ project before forming Third Eye with Ollie Olsen. He was also a member of ’The Ears’ upon which the infamous ’Dogs in Space’ film was based. Towards the end of the 80’s he recorded a project with Bono and Edge from U2 and Todd Terry. He also became more active in production doing an album for Australia’s Joe Creighton. The 90’s saw shifts to New York and Paris for 3 years before finally settling in London. During this period collaborated with /remixed African Jazz/Soul legend Manu Dibango, Nina Hagen, Jamiroquai, producer Youth -for who he was his in-house engineer at Butterfly studios- amongst others. This period also saw a concentration on the trance scene- with extensive travel performing at festivals everywhere: Samothraki- Greece/Solstice Fuji Rock, Arkadia, Planetary Nations- Japan/ Earthcore, Submerge - Australia, as well as Zambia, Morrocco, Mexico, Thailand, Chile, Croatia, Bolivia, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Finland and more. over 60 tracks have been released under his own name as well as BUS, Slinky Wizard, Stoop and Fidjet, Turban Bloc and Zen Lemonade (with his wife Cozi AKA DJ Supercozi). These have appeared on Flying Rhino, Dragonfly, Blue Room, TIP, Iboga, Spiraltrax, Transient, Atomic and more. Alas, most of the labels having succumbed to the ravages of the eternally changing music machine.....There’s also the albums: Lemon Soul by Zen Lemonade ..onfly, Dub Shadows -a retrospective of his downbeat material from the trance years on Cyan, Electric Oceans- a downbeat album on Japan’s 30th Co label and ’morebusinesslinkyouthere by BUS ( out on SUB)his much belated trance effortDownbeat tracks have also appearred on recent Interchill and Dakini compilations and 2 new compilations of tracks from his trance days: Gus Till the Best of the Rhino Years parts 1 and 2 - the second volume concntrating mainly on his unreleased material from that period.Somewhere during the start of the 21st century a move to Bali occurred where trance has taken a bit of a back seat to his more downbeat and eclectic interests. This saw a period of work with Adam Freeland, Claude Challe, Sytem 7 and others as well as being an inhouse DJ at Ku De Ta.Chillpresso Volume 1 Dari Bali, was also released this year on Hypo Espresso ( run by Dj Supercozi) basically an inhouse job featuring Zen Lemonade, Supercozi, Gus as well as Blue Planet Corporation, Ian Ion, Youth, Jong and othersA new album ’Stillness’ has just been released on his new ’Deep Ambient’ label ’Aquana’ It’s currently released in limited edition and is available from psyharmonics online shop www.psy-harmonics.com.au This is a tentative start to an entire series so stay tuned. Currently in the studio working on more projects than would seem immediately sensible- . A downbeat/dub release from Zen Lemonade is almost underwraps and he is currently working on a soundtrack to the film ’Madeswyara’ about the Balinese festival held every 6 years. Expect a tribal/dance album by the end of the year too( maybe even a BUS album).
