Lola Skye

Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands

About Me

CURRENTLY PLAYING: MILLA JOVOVICH - "DIVING UP"
♥ I have quite a few nicknames: Lolee, Lola, Annie, Angie, Muffin, Dea....all those are nicknames and unfortunately for privacy purposes I do not reveal my legal name.
♥ Starting studies in physics (mainly astrophysics but also quantum and of course theoretical) at Cambridge University in Cambridge, U.K.
♥ Law Degree from U.B.C. (University of British Columbia) -- {HATED LAW!}
♥ I'm a former model but decided to quit for a different direction in life.
♥ I dislike talking to people who can't admit their mistakes and weaknesses. I think it's admirable when someone can admit their faults.
♥ I can be narcissistic, but most of the time I consider myself generous and social
♥ I'm very quiet and pretty shy in real life (what can I say? The internet just brings it out in me)
♥ Involved in the work with the United Nations (Specifically the UNEP and the IARC)
♥ I believe there's more than just CO2 emissions to global warming (aside from the fact that global warming isn't really global since NASA's topography satellites revealed the southern hemisphere did not heat up in the last 25 years). That is not to say that you shouldn't go green, I'm an environmentalist because this planet is the only home we'll have and treating it with respect is natural to me.
♥ I want to adopt after I finish my studies at Cambridge
♥ Cancer Survivor (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia ---- (the subtype I had was Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia which apparently has the highest chances of survival in all the subtypes in AML, I was lucky :) )
♥ My version of heaven would have unicorns, fairies and other fairy tale elements. I have an insane imagination though.
♥ Before I finish a first date with a goodbye kiss, I always warn the men and give them a disclaimer that Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler are the only two men I'd cheat on anyone with. They can't later claim I didn't warn them.
♥ Pro marijuana legalization (even though I only smoke it very rarely at events like big concerts and such)
♥ I'm anti drugs and have never even touched them (I don't consider pot a drug)
♥ My favourite ice cream combination is mint with chocolate (ala After Eight)
♥ My favourite tea is Earl Grey and Mint
♥ I have a white persian cat named
Gandalf "Ghandi", a Shaded Golden Exotic Shorthair cat named Muffin, a black British Shorthair cat named Lola jr. and a half cocker-spaniel/half Golden Retriever mix named Spooky. Gandalf comes everywhere with me, the other three my mum takes care off while I travel.
♥ I'm a huge fan of Stephen Hawking's work and find him admirable in all aspects.
♥ I hate watching tv from today but I'm a huge, huge fan of X-files and Star Trek (all except the latest Enterprise with Cpt. Archer)
♥ I saw Elton John live 4 times, The Rolling Stones 5 times and I pride myself in having seen Pink Floyd live (even though I was only 12 and my mother took me :( ) I go to concerts at least once every two months.
♥ I enjoy going to my drag-queen friends' shows when I have time off.
♥ The few things you can always find in my fridge - guaranteed - are pineapple juice (or real pineapples) and Vanilla Pudding. It has bigger priority than eggs, water or milk.
♥ I always had a crush on Audrey Hepburn and own several of her movies and a framed picture on the wall. To me she is the very definition of class. So whenever I'm down and don't feel like wearing something good and just want to put runners on and wear them for days, I look up, I look at her in that fancy little black dress and I'm convinced and ready to go in my best outfit and with a fixed better mood.
♥ I'm a Pesco Vegetarian (although I don't fancy sea food all too much either)
♥ I tried to quit smoking 21 times
"Was I ever crazy? Maybe. Or maybe life is... Crazy isn't being broken or swallowing a dark secret. It's you or me amplified. If you ever told a lie and enjoyed it. If you ever wished you could be a child forever. Or confused a dream with life? Stolen something if you had the cash? Ever been blue? Or thought your train was moving while sitting still? Maybe I'm just crazy...or maybe I'm just girl....interrupted" - Susanna Kaysen"
