Livin' Life and Lovin' It!

About Me

I've moved...come see me in facebook.Who am I?I'm a Bronx-born Haitian-American living near Oakland's Lake Merritt. I love funky music, collect African diasporic art, chow down food from around the world, travel at the drop of a dime (and scuba when i can), fight for social justice, and love to lounge. I just love my life.I've been in the environmental justice, media justice, voting rights, student and several other movements for almost 20 years. If we don't make a difference soon we won't be around too much longer. I've been honored to meet and learn from amazing people here and around the world. I try to carry those lessons with me...without the baggage!Between my social justice work and social life I don't have much time for lounging at home chillin', but i make time to do that too.

My Interests

Traveling to mall-less countries and neighborhoods, scuba, live music of so many types, viewing and collecting art, talking trash, Afropop.org, missing NY, watching the Oakland skyline and the Lake Merritt shoreline twinkle at dusk, nice drives in the warm California weather (with the seat heaters on if it just ain't warm enough), regaling folks with my stories about concerts, politics, and my crazy life, like that time i snuck onto the stage at Yankee Stadium when Nelson Mandela was in town....

I'd like to meet:

Cool folk in the Bay Area to hang with. Cool folk elsewhere to visit. Prince lovers and SGI members everywhere. African-diasporic music, art, dance (Rennie Harris, Ron k. Brown, Urban Bush Women, Peru Negro, many west and south african and caribbean dance companies) and food lovers. Folk that will walk with me around Lake Merritt.
