Murdered hundreds, busted for tax evasion. The fucking IRS will screw you every time.
"I have build my organization upon fear."
The names Al Capone im America's best known gangster and the single greatest symbol of the collapse of law and order in the United States during the 1920s Prohibition era. I had a leading role in the illegal activities that lent Chicago its reputation as a lawless city.
I was born on January 17, 1899, in Brooklyn, New York. Baptized "Alphonsus Capone," I grew up in a rough neighborhood and was a member of two "kid gangs," the Brooklyn Rippers and the Forty Thieves Juniors. Although I was bright, I quit school in the sixth grade at age fourteen. Between scams I was a clerk in a candy store, a pinboy in a bowling alley, and a cutter in a book bindery. I became part of the notorious Five Points gang in Manhattan and worked in gangster Frankie Yale's Brooklyn dive, the Harvard Inn, as a bouncer and bartender. While working at the Inn, I received my infamous facial scars and the resulting nickname "Scarface" when I insulted a patron and was attacked by her brother.
In 1918, I met an Irish girl named Mary "Mae" Coughlin at a dance. On December 4, 1918, Mae gave birth to my son, Albert "Sonny" Francis. Capone and we got married that year on December 30.
After i defeated several murder charges, I was convicted of income tax evasion and spent eight years in prison.
"When I sell liquor, it's called bootlegging; when my patrons serve it on Lake Shore Drive, it's called hospitality."
"You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone."
"This American system of ours, call it Americanism, call it capitalism, call it what you will, gives each and every one of us a great opportunity if we only seize it with both hands and make the most of it"
