About Me

Alex grew up in the L.A. area listening to funk, disco and motown classics. Inspired by the late 80's early 90's Los Angeles underground dance scene, Alex fell in love with the house music movement.
"I remember the energy created at flammable liquid with doc martin,
that's when it all hit me!" I soon left my guitar and traded it for 2 belt drive technic turntables that hardly worked...the rest is history". In a matter of months, after relocating to AZ, Alex performed and headlined events & clubs statewide. His popularity rose, receiving nationwide attention. National magazines like BPM, URB, XLR8R, Sonik and "Big Wig" promoters Insomniac, Cool World, Crowbar & Ark Entertainment were buzzing and flying him in frequently. Featured in the Nocturnal Wonderland 2000 video, Alex landed 5th best act of the night next to UK's Paul Oakenfold and Andy C. His weekly radio mix show on Power 98.3 FM saturday nights became a local icon. 1000'S of listeners tuned in every saturday night at midnight.
Supporting all inspiring new dj's in the community, Alex and the Tucson Unified School District came together for something that changed the AZ school district. DJ classes were available as a new school elective. "This was a dream come true...Alex says, I opened up doors for many young dj's...I had a stanton and a pioneer rep join me and helped advice students on equipment for begginers...parents would call me for pointers on mixing...i really enjoyed it" "It's a great way to educate young dj's and keep their interest high and away from drugs or bad choices...at the same time it counts as an elective towards their diploma...not bad huh?"
To top it off, Alex and friends organized and held some of the biggest events ever in AZ history, flying in world class talent from America's dj Dan to UK's Tall Paul to NYC's turntable master Roc Raida. "The scene was blooming!" Alex is considered by many as one of the "godfathers" of the southern AZ dance scene. His unique style of House, Funk, Techno, Tribal and Progressive combined with his flawless mixing performing on 3 turntables make him unmatchable. Currently, Alex uses technic mk5 turntables, rane serato live, pioneer 600 mixer, pro-tools, reason, boss rc-20xl pedal loop station, mac g4 + more.
