Rock The Vote!
This means YOU!

This election is one of the most important elections we will see in our lifetime for many many reasons
This next election will determine the course our country will take for the next 4-8 years, but also it will set policies that will be in place for the next 100 years
I do not care who you vote for BUT VOTE!
You live in a country where you still have a voice
use it or lose it!
To register to vote- you can go to the Rock the Vote Website:
http://www.rockthevote.com/rtv_register.php?ms=homecolumn

You must register ASAP to be able to Vote in November!
Rock ON!
_______
A personal request from Jonny A to seriously consider:
PLEASE VOTE NO ON PROP 98!
On the June 2008 Ballot there are 2 propositions about "Eminent Domain" one of them, Prop 98 is a LIE - this measure is also about Ending all Rent Control in California!
The Ending of Rent Control is buried inside the language of Prop 98,
The Los Angeles Times ran an article about the deceptive nature of this prop back in the Fall of 2007....at the time the article ran, The Los Angeles Times said a PROP NUMBER had not yet been assigned- PROP 98 is it!
PLEASE VOTE NO ON PROP 98!
If you are like me- the only reason I can still afford to live in Southern Cal is because I live in LA city with Rent Control..
If Prop 98 passes, my landlord would have more relaxed Eviction codes and could kick me out of my apartment so he may raise the rent, and there would be no rent control for anyone in California...
PLEASE VOTE NO on 98
and Please tell your friends!

(May 10th issue) in Back Stage West:
" Break of Day "
"Next up is the competition's winner,
"Break of Day," by Jeff Carter.
Jon Amirkhan and Ronnie Clark poignantly play a pair of farm-raised adult brothers forced to come to grips with their mother's sudden death.
Change for these socially stunted, fraternal twins is an intense struggle,
one that director Michael David allows his cast to explore with touching brilliance
through pauses and internal monologues."
Starring JON AMIRKHAN and RONNY CLARK

My Interests

Comedy- I'm a laugh whore..and slut, THEATER, Willie Dixon, Howlin Wolf, Robert Johnson, Tom Waits, the Beatles- oh hey- any music but country and Muzac really; Jim Jarmusch Films, Chaplin; Bogart; Happy Gilmore (Im sinking my "suave" rating huh?) Classic Films, Film Noir, all films,
Black & White photography still and in motion,
Female vocalists, woman presidents, underdogs- anywhere, comics- (no clowns don't count-clowns are scary), friends & the sound of their laughter, poetry- but only selectively and not necessarily published, God's poetry you can see on the street and in the subway..and a bunch of other stuff that I don't feel like typing out. Definitely Not typing for sure.

I'd like to meet:

Friends - even the kind you fall madly in love with but FRIENDS- it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!

Music:

Blues, 60's & 70's Rock, Good Alternative Rock, Jazz, Classical, Blues, The List is too long..I love a lot of Music, did I mention Blues?

Movies:

Too many to list. My Range: everything from Classic Bogart and Film Noir to Jim Jarmish to Wings of Desire to Happy Gilmore. Basically- I don't follow TV, just films, now be quiet- I'm watching this...

Television:

Yes- but too lazy to change remote batteries

Books:

Catcher in the Rye before it meant crazy when it spoke for the generation- and anything else that is funny, first person, and enfused with human comedy and a little poetic pathos

Heroes:

My Dad- My Mom, and my familly- all of my close circle of friends- and a good pathos comic (like Chaplin) Most of all compassionate people who can laugh at themsleves - it takes courage to be compassionate and self-efacing in a healthy way, and they are all much more driven and better than i- so these are my heroes.
