The band Ribozyme was started in 1998. Within the first year, they had recorded their eponymous debut EP, which secured them an appearance at the nation’s most important music convention (by:Larm in 2000). Five years later, the band have released two full length albums, a second EP and two singles, and appeared on national TV and radio. The video to the title track from their latest album made it to top 3 videos on Norwegian TV-channel NRK2 in the autumn of 2003. Their second video was also played frequently after the release in 2005. To this date Ribozyme has performed more than 150 concerts, including a few Norwegian festivals.
In the summer of 2004, one of Ribozyme's guitarists quit, and the band had to take a short brake from touring and songwriting to decide where to go from this point. They soon chose not to bring a new member into the band, and started rewriting old material while experimenting with synth and percussion. The result was a new twist to the sound! Unmistakeably hard rock; massive like Motorpsycho, melodic like A Perfect Circle, with a dark and somewhat creepy twist.
During the autumn of 2005 Ribozyme did their first European tour, and spent four weeks on the road in Germany, Czech Republic, Slovenia and England. This tour built a foundation for future touring and the next album.
In september 2006, soon after the release of "Blacklist Mercy" they had another change in the band lineup with the arrival of a new drummer, and they immediately took to the road promoting the new album.
The band now sounds better than ever, and have already started writing material for their next album release.COMMENTS WITH SPAM CONTENT, BAND PROMOTION AND SUCH WILL BE DELETED, SO DON'T EVEN BOTHER POSTING THEM...
