About Me

Welcome to Zeff HQ - the hub of all things Zeffadelic. Zeff is a singer/songwriter/composer/writer/performer based in London, England. He is a brother in arms. He is ginger. He's a bit this and a bit that. He trained in classical music at Goldsmith's College, London and plays several instruments (although it's debatable how well). He will compose music for you if you ask nicely. Or maybe play your favorite song. Zeff is also an experienced arts journalist and has written on – or interviewed – amongst others Francis Bacon, Keith Harring, Yoko Ono, Michelangelo (that's Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni to you) and Master Of The Queen's Music Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Actually it's just Zeff. He writes, plays and produces everything himself. Sometimes he gets Nadia the manikin on stage with him, you know to keep him company. Or piano hands herself, the lovely Sarah Ellis. Then of course there's us here at Zeff HQ making sure everything runs smoothly (or not). You can catch more of us making cameo appearances in Zeff's blog (and we love fan mail).
Influences: Relationships and their undulating fate * Tony Ditri * St Etienne * Kurt Weill * Alan Ginsberg * Remodernism * Debussy * Morriconne * 80s hip hop * Lou Reed * Phil Spector * James MacMillan * Jean Cocteau * Bowie * Bass lines straight from heaven * beats from hell * Patti Smith * Scott Walker * Alban Berg * Brel * Björk * Burt Bacharach * Guinness * Beards * Brian Wilson * The Beatles * The Dubliners by James Joyce * Ginger Power! * Celtic Mythology * Love * Hate * (but hopfully more of the former and less about the latter) * my friends *
