The Sister Wendy Musical

NUN. CRITIC. SUPERSTAR.

About Me

Postcards from God is a vibrant and enchanting new musical portrait of the world’s most well-known 'art nun', Sister Wendy Beckett.
The show follows the story of this media phenomenon, who became a household name in the nineties with her televised tours of the UK, Europe and America, spreading her homespun philosophy that 'art is meant for everyone'. But as the reluctant pop icon swapped her humble mobile home for the caravan of fame, her simple life would never be the same again.
Featuring gospel, pop, rock 'n' roll and rap, Postcards from God's bold new score is composed in styles as various as the artworks depicted in the show. A cast of all-singing, all-dancing nuns bring this poignant parable about the world's only 'nun critic superstar' to life in vivid colour.
As featured on BBC London News:
Postcards from God – The Sister Wendy Musical ran for four weeks at Jermyn Street West End Studio Theatre in January 2007, attracting press coverage from all the broadsheet newspapers, receiving three-star reviews in Metro, Time Out and The Sunday Telegraph as well as being featured on BBC London News and Front Row on BBC Radio Four. Sister Wendy Beckett even gave the production her personal blessing live on BBC Radio Two, describing the show's creator Marcus Reeves as ‘a man of enormous imagination’.
Postcards from God is now in re-development, overseen by Okai Collier Productions (Ruthless, Elegies, Purlie) with a view to a major production in 2008.
