Cooperblack are a Darwin based band laying out tunes with a post
punk electro /rock feel..[ with a dash of the eighties]. Cooperblack released an new 6 track CD "Soft Robot", in 2006 which recieved airplay on TrIpleJ, Mix 100 and various community radio stations around Australia.
The band in finer detail..
Cooperblack is an odd mix. Always evolving musically, the members of the band are really quite different people. Simon [The Hungarian] is the mad Professor.... bending keys and theramin the way Hendrix would have if he were born in land of no guitars. Oliver [The German] is the funniest...and has seen more bands play that we have had hot dinners combined..and brings those performances and memories to the band..often shocking us in good faith. Jeremy [The Australian] studied classical music and has vast music retail and back catalogue brain, often reciting catalogue numbers of record releases like he has turrets.
The band and music in finer detail..
We like to have fun..and our music should be enjoyed..danced to..and thought about.
We all love good music, from David Bowie, Nina Hagen, The Doors, The Sex Pistols to....Bloc Party, Interpol, The Velvet Underground, Pumpin trance and Electro stuff like Gerling, Dj Shadow..and the list continues..there is so much good music to listen to...
Lyrically the words can be thoughtful and romantic....and can be completely random, often putting things that have nothing to do with each other together, to create hybrids words and feelings...

Add to My Profile | More Videosthis is a version of the presbus film clip released in 1999 - 2000. this song was originally a soundtrack for an art exhibition involving the robots you see in adelaide but ended up as this quirky little tune..with tamera day (melbourne) on scat vocals. presbus gained high rotation on triple when released..
