Wildflower, the young band fronted by 5 young women from the remote Arnhem Land Outstation of Mamadawerre, made a huge impact at their many performances for the Darwin Festival this year and with their debut DVD single "Galiwin’ku" which has been broadcast on Rage & on Austar through Aurora Community TV.

"The confidence in the girls to stand up proudly and sing to an audience, (a role that has been traditionally been played out by many male groups only throughout the NT) is exhilarating", said a member of the audience at their debut Darwin performance at Brown's Mart, Darwin on Feb 3rd 2006.
They are not imitating hip hop or rap, or dance, which many groups are now doing, but Wildflower follow in the footsteps of their uncles and fathers from the well known Indigenous rock band Nabarlek, adding their own blend of singable melodies and hook lines with a glowing sparkle.
Local and national touring is on the agenda for 2007.
