Twilight Zone~~ I mostly watch Cartoon Network and Comedy Central "How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people -- first of all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness is wholly dependent, and then for the many, unknown to us, to whose destinies we are bound by the ties of sympathy. A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving... The ideals that have lighted my way, and time after time have given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Kindness, Beauty, and Truth. Without the sense of kinship with men of like mind, without the occupation with the objective world, the eternally unattainable in the field of art and scientific endeavors, life would have seemed empty to me. The trite objects of human efforts -- possessions, outward success, luxury -- have always seemed to me contemptible." An essay by Einstein *
I like philosophy and religion, books that give me incite or teach me, along with the occasional poetry. I have been reading Kierkegaard and I am currently reading "Native Wisdom." I just finished "One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey (Looking forward to Tom Wolfe's The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test) and "1984" by George Orwell. I enjoy reading Kurt Vonnegut's work, and I hope to read more Aldous Huxley. I've grown to respect writers, mostly because I want to see my name at the top of the page, on some paper, in some book, someday. * * *'When we look about us towards external objects, and consider the operation of causes, we are never able, in a single instance, to discover any power or necessary connexion; any quality, which binds the effect to the cause, and renders the one an infallible consequence of the other. There is required a medium, which may enable the mind to draw such an inference, if indeed it be drawn by reasoning and argument. What that medium is, I must confess, passes my comprehension; and it is incumbent on those to produce it, who assert that it really exists, and is the origin of all our conclusions concerning matter of fact.' -Hume, 1737
.. .... Respectable men and women who have accomplished notable acheivements through humanitarian hearts and open minds. Those who were activists, and those who were writers on subjects, which many people in this world are oblivious to. Straying away from such realisations as brotherhood. Yes, brotherhood is my hero. So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none. When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. - Tecumseh*john lennon once said he doesn't believe in heroes, but i've got a little something to tell him, he is my hero. admire the love, the people. admire their words, the message of peace. admire the lasting beauty and connection. admire the life, living, without space and time to interupt..this revolving force called earth took your words, your beating heart, away from us too soon, i love you john! * * *“I am responsible for everything except for my very responsibility, for I am not the foundation of my being. Therefore everything takes place as if I were compelled to be responsible. I am abandoned in the world... in the sense that I find myself suddenly alone and without help, engaged in a world for which I bear the whole responsibility without being able, whatever I do, to tear myself away from this responsibility for an instant.†– Sartre * * * * * * Artists... I could not bear life without art. I would simply wilt away at the very thought. I look up to artists, because I will be nothing but an artist. They are not heroes, persay, but they do have an indent in my reality. Alex Grey Rene Magritte
