English Electric

About Me

"Fantastic racket from Islington, English Electric make the organ scream and scrape the guitars. Raw, brutal rock music with the wonderfully deadpan vocal delivery. If Elvis had heard Joy Division, it might sound like this."
Karmadownload.com Unsigned Artist of the Week (March 2006).
"English Electric played another fine English set, and our door staff ensure us that they are getting better each time they see them. Maybe its time for the labels to take a sneaky look. Nice lads who got along well with everyone in the venue...it aint rocket science". Tube Club (November 2006).
THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC - Combining Killing Joke like intensity with a more Joy Division type prowling and malevolent post punk rock. Singer has a Lydon/bloke out of Bogshed feel to complete the post punk picture. Islington based, good granite hard sound but with warm pop appeal too. Likey. Bugbear ( November 2006)
Formed in London in 2005, English Electric have written and recorded about thirty songs so far, in their lounge, using a dodgy eight-track. The songs are mainly about sex, space travel and mis-information.

RoTa Sat 2nd Dec

RoTa, Its a good gig, in a cool place, so get messy. Treat it like a nice starter (e.g musical soup) for your tired 9-5 ears. Gorge eagerly on the thick buttery notes we dole out on your senses. ...

English Electric @ Dublin Castle

Fun, fun, fun. With the band complaining of hangovers, and then the cancellation of the soundcheck, this gig looked like going very wrong from the start. The darkly clad quintet graced the stage with a...
