-------------------------------------Biography-------------- --------------------------------Yooter was born and raised in Jackson Heights Queens NYC. His parents emigrated to the United States from Peru in the early 70s. Being Hispanic-American, Yooters musical influences included various Latin rhythms, House, Freestyle, Dancehall Reggae, R&B, and his first love, Hip-Hop. The name Yooter comes from the Graffiti world. He used to bomb with the monikers U.T., U.T. ONE or U.T.ER. People in his neighborhood park misread his tag in a graffiti Black book one night and morphed the pronunciation of his name to YOOTER. He couldnt shake the name, the streets had spoken.----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------By his fifteenth birthday, Yooter was DJing House and Mobile Parties for friends and acquaintances. In the early 90s, he began recording his own mixed tapes. He hooked up with Spin one, Camilo, and Diz-one to form Strictly Live (a DJ crew that includes rapper Juganot). Around this time, Yooter began DJing the club circuit. He DJd at Caf Society, Arena, Decos, The Muse, Casablanca, and other dance clubs of the time in NYC.-------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ ------------------- In the year 2000, Yooter traveled the north east U.S. performing in live shows as a turntablist and band member in the Hip-hop/Funk band Fatbag. The group eventually signed a recording contract. He also DJd on the road as far as Europe for rapper Afu-Ra. As mixed tapes evolved into mixed CDs,Yooter hit the mixed CD game harder along side his partner DJ Diz-one. Together, their mixed CDs have reached throughout the continental U.S. and worldwide including Germany, Japan, Lebanon, England, Colombia and Puerto Rico.----- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------- ---------------------Yooter has also DJd in NYC at clubs such as NV, Cheetah, Flamingo, Blis, Babalu, Luahn, Level, Jet Lounge, Deep, Mars 2112, Centro-fly, Sound Factory and others. In 2001, Yooter began aiding his friend DJ Camilo by co-producing and co-hosting the Take it to the streets radio show broadcasting on NYCs Hot 97 FM. In 2003 and in 2004, Yooter and his CD partner Diz-one, were nominated for “Best duo on a mixed CD” at the “Just-O Mixed Tape Awards”.-------------------------------------------------- --------------------- ---------------------Recently, Yooter relocated to Southern Germany. In 2007 he was officially knighted as a member of the famous DJ organization known as “The Heavy Hitters” with key members through out the entire United States. Yooter is currently putting together a German Hip-Hop album titled “The Auslander Project” due out in 2008. DJ Yooter continues to play at various Dance clubs through out Europe. Booking Yooter for an event is more than just booking a DJ, it’s booking an experience. ..
