Born in Middlesbrough, Carlito Sub (aka DJ Sub) began his musical career playing bass guitar in various bands. At the age of 15 he was already gigging around the north of england. After adapting his style he took to playing live bass over house and big beat DJ's. Carlito was first introduced to DnB at the mighty northern DnB night ONIT, much respect going out to Leo (where ever you are matey!!). It wasnt until he moved to Leeds to study that he first started mixing. 6 months after catching the vinyl bug and without a set of decks of his own, he got his first set at Leeds DnB night Cheeky. This then led onto running the only Leeds outdoor weekly DnB night 'Sherbet' alongside The Scratch Technician. Across his time in Leeds, Carlito Sub held down residencies at Darkside, and Soma aswell as performing at various Freshers and Grad balls with Lowlife and TST for Leeds Student Radio. His career has also encompassed 5 years of producing and presenting weekly DnB radio shows. Carlito now lives in London and balances freelance work with time workin on the tunes, after spending the last two years working in the audio cabling supply industry.
