I grew up a hip hop junkie, starting with motown first. It was at the age of about 16 did I discover jungle and drum and bass. As both genres evolved and remains to continue had I realized the openness and talent of it all. Not only have I gained knowledge and wisdom of these genres, but it has taught me to be open up to many types of other genres.(i.e classic rock and punk). Just because I dont essentially enjoy listening to other genres on a regular basis does not mean I cannot respect it.
