About Me

Thank you for visiting my corner of Myspace. I'm something of a hermitess and a spiritual eclectic.

'But what are we to do for her? What kind of gifts shall we offer her? Would that we could at least return what we are in duty bound to do, for we owe her honor and service, we owe her love and praise...'
--Saint Aelred, abbot.

'I was very tolerant of the idea of being behind the times, having had long opportunities of studying the perfectly ghastly people who were abreast of the times; or the still more pestilent people who were in advance of the times.'
---Chesterson

My Interests

I'm into all manner of things, but here is a good list: spiritual studies, soap making, learning to play my cello, reading the Tarot, the 19th century, the 20's, museums, 19th century artwork, steel engravings & photogravures, the Romantic Period, knitting, crafting, hauntings, contemplative spirituality, homemaking, the local witch shop Ebbo's, cryptozoology (go Bigfoot!), nature, trees in particular and wildflowers, solitude, the Blessed Sacrament, gardening, crystal/rock collecting, train travel, lakes, old fashioned Halloweens, Crusoe the Wonder Dog, cathedrals, stained glass windows, Art Nouveau, jamavar shawls, magick, the sea, vintage jewelry, I love both Mass & the Circle, monasteries; for fun I make home-crafted clay Halloween witches; harvest moons, the solticies, Holy Mother, antique lap harps, and LOTR. Dislikes: heights (I absolutely do not fly. This will be a problem when I take my vacation to Europe.)

I love old art, especially engravings with a spiritual/otherworldly theme. I like old Halloween and Fairytale art, too.

I'd like to meet:

Smart people; creative, mystical, kind folks with an imagination and sense of wonder. Artists, intellectuals, lunatics, people with a sense of humor, even... but mostly those who possess a certain otherworldliness and awareness.

What kind of Lolita are you? (anime pics!)
You are an Aristocrat Lolita!!!!--Woah, you are soo elegant. You love longer skirts, bustle skirts, long jackets, and waist cinchers. You don't show a lot of skin, but you like it that way. Don't forget your parasol to shade you from the sun! Your look is definately Victorian and stunning.

Online Adoration at Savior.org

"Are not the mountains, waves, and skies, a part
Of me and my soul, as I of them?

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar:
I love not Man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot conceal."

Beautiful Mother
Cradle us and Shield us with the Protective mantle of Your maternal love and Intercessions before the Throne of God.
Saint John Chrysostom:
"Do you desire to know how far the Virgin surpasses the powers of heaven? Give me your attention then. They veil their faces as they hover in fear and trembling, but she offers the human race to God....."
Saint Anselm:
"God, then, is Father of the created world and Mary the mother of the re-created world....Truly the Lord is with you, to whom the Lord granted that all nature should owe as much to you as to himself."

The bee is not afraid of me, I know the butterfly; The pretty people in the woods Receive me cordially;
The brooks laugh louder when I come, The breezes madder play, Wherefore, mine eyes, thy silver mists? Wherefore, O summer's day?

My Favorite Prayers
O Most beautiful Flower of Mt. Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendour of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein you are my Mother.
Oh Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart , to help me in this necessity; there are none that can withstand your power.
O, show me herein you are my Mother. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. (3 times)
Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands. (3 times).
*************
Teach me, my Lord, to be sweet and gentle, In all the events of life-
in disappointments, in the thoughtlessness of others, in the insincerity of those I trusted, in the unfaithfulness of those on whom I relied.
Let me put myself aside, to think of the happiness of others, to hide my little pains and heartaches, so that I may be the only one to suffer from them.
Teach me to profit by the suffering that comes across my path. Let me so use it that it may mellow me, not harden nor embitter me; that it may make me patient, not irritable, that it may make me broad in my forgiveness, not narrow, haughty, or overbearing.
May no one be less good for having come within my influence. No one less pure, less true, less kind, less noble for having been a fellow-traveler in our journey toward Eternal Life.
As I go my rounds from one distraction to another, let me whisper from time to time, a word of love to Thee. May my life be lived in the super-natural, full of power for good, and strong in the purpose of sanctity.
*************
O Queen, who art the beauty of Carmel, pray for us. (Latin: Regina decor Carmeli, ora pro nobis.)
O blessed Virgin, full of grace, Queen of all Saints, how sweet it is for me to venerate thee under the title of our Lady of Mt. Carmel. It takes me back to the days of the prophet Elias, when thou wast prefigured on Mt. Carmel under the form of the little cloud, from which, as it increased, there fell a kindly rain, symbolic of the sanctifying graces that come to us from thee... O beauty of Carmel, glory of Libanus, thou purest of lilies, mystic rose in the flowering garden of the Church. Meanwhile, O Virgin of virgins, be mindful of me in my misery and show thyself my Mother. Shed upon me ever more and more the living light of that faith which made thee blessed, inflame me with that heavenly love wherewith thou didst love thy Dear Son, Jesus Christ. I am filled with miseries both spiritual and temporal. I am straitened by many sorrows in body and soul, and I take refuge, like a child, in the shadow of thy motherly protection. Do thou, Mother of God, who hast such power and might, obtain for me from blessed Jesus, the heavenly gifts of charity and meekness, which were the fairest ornaments of thy soul. Do thou grant me to be strong in the midst of temptations and bitterness which so often overwhelm my spirit. And when the days of my earthly pilgrimage are accomplished according to God's holy will, grant that my soul may obtain the glory of paradise, through the merits of Christ and thine intercession.
Amen.
