Hi everyone... Welcome to my 'MySpace' page. I originally trained as a dancer, but after a short stint on a cruise ship, I discovered I much preferred the company of the band. I decided to go to Music College to improve my saxophone playing. Whilst in college, there was a sudden demand for my singing as there was a shortage of female vocalists. Around this time I also got involved in several acting projects including theatre, TV and film. I have since toured with a few bands – the most exciting being a 2 year tour of Japan (it was only supposed to be 4 months, but I think they liked me!) he he Singing other people’s music made me yearn to sing my own songs – so, I set to writing and returned from Japan with a book full of lyrics and melodies in my head. A chance meeting in a library of all places was where I met Dave Watkin – a Liverpool producer who made sense of my scribblings (and rambling melodies). More importantly, he could write and produce. Luckily for me – he can’t sing for toffee! We now work together under the name ‘Kumuchi’ – derived from the Japanese slang for ‘feels good’… (I’ve since been told it also means cabbage in Korean – which sort of takes the shine off it!) I love dance music, but write for any genre. Kumuchi is not my only project. Since signing a publishing deal with 23 rd Precinct / Notting Hill Music, I’m involved in a number of projects with various writers/producers. I’d like to say thanks to Katie Michaelson (who I recently met up with in Australia) for writing the beautiful ‘Paradise’ track for me. My biggest love is performing and I’m at my happiest onstage performing PA’s with my dancers, Dom and Dave For the bigger picture – take a look at my website: www.gillian-music.co.uk Thanks for checking out my page - please visit again soon…
