SI PAUL is LOST WITNESS
DJ | PRODUCER | REMIXER | PROMOTER
THE PAST:- 1999-2001 .For over ten years the music of Lost Witness has pounded out globally in clubs and over the airwaves supported by possibly every credible trance DJ that has graced the decks.
Founded in 1997 by DJ/Producer Simon Paul Lost Witness began the musical journey entering the hearts and minds of the clubbing fraternity helped by support for Jugde Jules / Pete Tong and then Radio1 en mass as Ministry of Sound scooped the rights to the mighty Happiness Happening.
Happiness Happening captured the euphoria of the trance revolution encompassing lush angelic vocals and one of the few true songs to grasp the atmosphere of what trance was doing for dance music."Everything will be perfect tonight and forever!"... Written by Ed Barton (its a fine day) and vocalled by Tracey Carmen ...Lost Witness was born. Simon having DJ'ed for already a decade changed the title to Happiness Happening as he witnessed the effect trance was having in clubland
Undeniably though the key to success of the track was the stunning remix delivered by Lange that Simon had the foresight to commission....this remix then led to another great workout by Lange which in turn unleashed...
Red Sun Rising into the public trance domain...this the second single again written by Ed Barton and vocalled by Tracey...was yet another defining moment as it took Trance Vocals from London to San Antonio and back and then globally. "Red Sea Read Sky Red Sun Rising Waves Fall White on White Sand".... Lost Witness smashed into Ibiza.....
As the trance revolution continued Si released his third and in his opinion the most requested LW record 7 Colours. Again Ministry grabbed onto this and once again Si's foresight brought into the frame the trance superstar we all know today as Darren Tate to rework 7 Colours..to great effect Darren under his Angelic guise whipped 7 Colours into an anthemic trance supertrack.
The last Lost Witness record to be released by Ministry Did I Dream took a slightly left of centre apporache by being picked up..it took Si's Bomb Factory remix to take the epic Trance Vocals of Tracey Carmen (again) of Tim Buckleys timeless "Song to the Siren" to grab the attention of Pete Tong. Championed by Pete, Ministry then took the reigns and hauled in Trance heavyweight and now the worlds biggest DJ Tiesto, to rework and inject his magik into this.That then hoisted Lost Witness' 4th consecutive release again into the National Top 40;

2003-2004-(Virign/Nebula) After a sabbatical of 2/3 years Si returned to his beloved trance and hooked up with his old Tidy Trax mate Paul Janes (Untidy Dubs/UK Gold). Wishing a change in direction and being a fan of Pauls tough approach to percussion . Si and Paul embarked on another trance journey..the big question was could they deliver...Trance had obviously moved on and to a degree fallen by the wayside but still retaining the formula great songs , strong melodies and great remixes they set out.
What followed was not only quite amazing but almost overwhelming..Si, approached Ricky Simmonds (Space Bros/Chakra)
who delivered not only the stunning vocals of Andrea Britton but a truly emotive heartfelt trance song."Wait for You" Si commissioned a remix by danish producers Lars and Soren pka "Kevin" and what transpired was overwhelming support by Judge Jules for a staggering 15 weeks on his radio 1 show. And it was Jules unrelenting support that set the wheels in motion to put Lost Witness back on the global map in the first strike. Virgin/Nebula stepped in and LW were off and running again. Nebula commissioned a full remis package and "Wait for You"was ready to go. This time round National Chart success was just missed as Radio 1's policy boycotted trance which given its huge support by Jules was a bit of a blow......
Nebula stuck with the plot and the next single released saw Si hook up with songwriter Anita Kelsey and Home was born. This time Si commissioned the truly amazing vocals of Tiff Lacey. Again carefully choosing remixes Si brought in the talented Mike Shiver who delivered a very cool and emotive work out cleverly usisng Rhodes Piano in the piano. The original mix was held in critical acclaim a one of the most original and uplifting trance riffs..
Again with Radio 1 sideswerving trance despite many global licenses the track never made the 40.Virgin /Nebula -ReleasesWait for You -Original/Extres 3 /Kevin/
