Beginning with the piano at age 7, Destiny surrounded herself in everything music from marching band to jazz band, from musical theatre to jazz & classical choir. After graduation, she spent a year performing across the Midwest as a member of the touring gospel group, Images. She left her home town of Lincoln, Nebraska in 1999 to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston where she received a scholarship for songwriting. While pursuing her degree in music therapy, Destiny spent much of her time writing music, collaborating on projects with fellow student musicians, & performing around the Boston metro area at venues including the Berklee Performance Center, Harvard University, the Dance Complex, and the Strand Theatre. She also worked on staff at Youth on Fire, a drop-in center for homeless youth in Harvard Square. In April 2005, after finishing her coursework at Berklee, she moved to San Deigo where she completed her internship as a music therapist, using music to bring healing to patients in hospitals and hospice around San Diego county. She continues to share her gift of song on and off stage in the San Diego and L.A. areas as well as recording her debut album, ‘Manifest Destiny,’ due out this fall.
