OK, I've got an eclectic grab-bag of interests. Prepare to laugh...
By day, I work my tail off for a huge hospital system in Dallas as a clinical quality analyst, and also own a skin and body care business. I have a long background in the medical field - went to paramedic school and worked on an ambulance until I got tired of getting shot at, then went to work as a nurse in a nice quiet doctor's office. I've got certs and experience in medical lab, vascular technology, radiology, yadda yadda.
The REAL me, of course is a little different: I'm a big Trekkie and fan of weird stuff like ghosts and aliens and whatnot. I don't go quite as far as seeing Elvis everywhere, though I did see him once. He was sitting between me and Bigfoot on a UFO one night.
I am what you call a "skeptical believer". I wanna believe, but I need proof, and hard proof before I holler "haunted". I don't take much stock in orbs or mists, and I'm pretty skeptical of photographs. When I (or my team) investigate a reported haunting, I go in looking for an explanation of what the client is experiencing - to debunk, if you will.
I'm also passionate about my skin care and cosmetic business. I'm always researching and formulating new ideas, technologies and products. In case you're wondering, I do not test on animals, and I do not source ingredients that are tested on them either. Our products are tested on human volunteers... Period.
Why am I here on MySpace? I enjoy the networking and interesting people and the really great friends I have made here. I am not here for dating, girl-collectors (yeah, you've seen those guys with nothing but trashy women on their friends list), get rich quick schemes, or any of that type nonsense. If that's your game, please don't bother asking me to be your friend.
I'd like to meet:
Julian McMahon, Sean Connery, Julian McMahon, Harrison Ford, Julian McMahon, David Tennant, Julian McMahon... See a pattern there? Hey, I'm married, not DEAD! I'd also love to hit a spot or two with the TAPS (Ghost Hunters) folks. I like the way they work. That's how investigating should be done.
Music:
Classic Rock, Classical, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Blues, Alt, Country... anything but Opera. Can't handle opera.
Queen - my all-time fave, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, AC/DC, NIN, Boston, George Clinton and Parliament, Pantera, Ted Nugent, Van Halen, Styx, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, LOVE Barry Manilow (I run the gamut)... The list goes on and on.
Movies:
I love SciFi, Horror, Vampires, monster movies, & comedies (some of those kind of blend together).
I think one of my favorite movies has to be The Exorcist. It scared the hell out of me (pardon the pun) then, and it scares the hell out of me now. This is the kind of flick that makes you want to sleep with your Bible...
And a rosary...
Not a priest, though. That would be bad.
Television:
See, now here's where that weird thing comes in again. Favorite shows (in no particular order): Torchwood, Ghost Hunters, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Charmed, Lost, Haunting Evidence, The Dead Zone, The 4400, Nip/Tuck, Mythbusters, Boston Legal - oh yeah - and Days of Our Lives. Been watching that one all my life. I can tell you crap that went on 30 years ago. It's sad, I know.
Books:
Anne Rice, Stephen King, Bob Asprin, Piers Anthony, Jack Chalker... I loved the Well of Souls series.
Heroes:
My Mom and my Dad. My hubby. My kids. Those are my real heroes.
Fictional heroes, I dunno. I guess I'd have to say Piper from the TV show Charmed. I'd LOVE to have those powers. Tailgaters and other various weeners wouldn't stand a chance.
Just as well, though. You wouldn't want to give the power to blow things up, fling fireballs, or any other destructive-type power to someone with my temperament.
