When the skinny fourth former left Jamaica College in the summer of 2003, to join his relatives in North America, he had no plans to continue playing basket ball and show off the talent and flair he demonstrated on his high school team, which won the local six years ago.Instead, Altimon Grason, wanted to fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a top class record producer in the entertainment industry. But since his arrival in the lively city of Brampton, Canada, four years ago, Grason who is better known as 'Alty B' in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), has created a stir in the 'party' circles, as a budding dee jee.Already he has recorded at least 25 singles, none of which has officially released, due a few obstacles."I still have enough time, right now I am just looking around for a honest producer," said 'Alty B' who is originally from the inner-city community of Drewsland in Waterhouse, St. Andrew.SLEEP, DREAM, write MUSICHis recordings included a counter to Sean Kingston's big hit, Beautiful Girl. Most of his singles, which are non-slackness, speak to the many heart-broken stories, involving his past relationships.A year ago Grason entered a talent competition which features the top singers and dee jees from the cities of Toronto and Montreal, he finished in the top five."I sleep, dream and write lyrics. Right now I have several books with songs that I am yet to record," a smiling Grason told The STAR.His favourite local artistes are Grammy winners, Moses Davis (Beenie Man) and Damian Marley (Junior Gong), along with Desmond Ballentine (Ninja Man)."I spend my spare time listening to the old time rhythms and lyrics of the older artistes of 70s and 80s, because one can learn a lot from those experiences," Grason commented.His ambition to pursue a career in the entertainment circles, came as something natural which runs in the family. For example his younger sister Anika Grison, played the role of the younger of two daughters of Audrey Reid in Dance Hall Queen. His father Altimon Grison Sr.is the manager of an entertainment club in St. Catherine.Grason spend most of his childhood years growing up with his grandmother Kathlyn Rose, who still resides on Worrel Crescent in Drewsland (Waterhouse), St. Andrew. Like many other inner-city youths, Grison had seen it all, the bloodshed and the maiming of scores of people.Unlike many of his peers, he choose the right path, a position he maintained in his adopted homeland. He is a part of a promotional crew 'Badda Squad', who have been promoting parties across the city.
