SLOW BUDGET RECORDS

Many labels claim to be "independent" but few truly are in every sense of the word. Slow Budget Records is one of those few. SBR is a self-sustained, self-maintained label equipped with not only rappers and producers, but an entire promotions team, graphic arts department, a studio with in-house engineers, a video director and production team and a budding clothing line. The Slow was created to be a home where new artists could flourish and perfect their craft. The motto of SBR is simple, "While all these other labels are busy putting $5 rappers in million dollar studios, we're putting million dollar rappers in a $5 studio." Hip-Hop is equally as simple; all you need is a real MC, a beat and a mic. Spearheading the Slow Budget Records revolution in the industry is CMR the Great; a Queens-born, Bronx-bred MC with a whole lot to say. A self-proclaimed "Microphone Fiend" since the age of 12, CMR has put a new spin on the age-old hustler-turned-rapper ideology, while seamlessly blending in a Rakim-esque presence over any beat. The Slow is also home to Hip-Hop's leader of the next school, The Gift a.k.a. SwitchBlade Gift. A talented rapper/producer, The Gift has been with SBR since its inception and has matured into a musical force the likes of which Hip-Hop has not yet experienced. Rather than conforming to today's trends and making unfounded claims of "taking over the game" or "bringing New York back", Slow Budget Records' approach has always been to let its brand of music speak for itself. SBR is, without a doubt, a throwback to the "Golden Era" of Rap and has made artistic freedom and creativity its main platform. Who needs a million-dollar budget?
