art~painting, writing, drawing, you name itmusic~ live music is a rapture. there is nothing that can ever replace it. what type do i like? raw guitars, rock mostly, industrial, gothy, sad, mellow acoustic, classical... we'll get to all of that later.reading~ i love reading. historical fiction mystery. yeah, i'm pretty precise. i also read a lot of philosophy and metaphysical books. oh, and reptiles magazine!reptiles~ i have a female 4 year old iguana, a bearded dragon and a ball python; i want more, but these guys are enough and they live so long that it's full a committment.metaphysical/religious/pagan~ whatever you want to call it, we all call it different things. if you are one, you know what i'm talking about. i like exchanging ideas and theories and information with others because it's a subject that evolves over time and space. you know the drill...people~ we are our own gift to each other... yes, yes, i'm a softie. i truly believe we can learn from each other and so i want to learn about other people. if you want to learn about me, that's your own call...

oh god, this could take forever... let's start out slowly and add some as time goes on??? tool, nin, toad the wet sprocket, razed in black, soulpreacher, chevelle, tori amos, peter murphy, sheryl crow, dambuilders, jeff buckley, stone temple pilots, morose vitality (it took a while, but they just grow on you), quell, smashing pumpkins, alice in chains, dismemberment plan (can i just say, "WOW!), bloodhound gang, weezer (fucking rocks!), marilyn manson (is quite an intelligent man), orgy, filter, gravity kills, nonpoint, fugazi, minor threat, system of a down, the cure, the police, squatweiler, lacuna coil, cold, seether, cake, strawberry (i have been listening to her stuff on myspace a LOT! it's incredible~ and while i'm on that thought), poe, fiona apple, heather nova, radiohead, sugar, depeche mode, opeth, interpol, snuzz, bus stop, ben folds five (if you don't listen to one of the last 3, then don't even talk to me!)...

Books:
now reading: rasputin's daughter. just read snow flower and the secret fan. North Carolina Slave Narratives. other books i love: Feast of All Saints (Rice) this is a great book about racial realizations that everyone should read; Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, The Eight by Katherine Neville, The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck, The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King, The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley & The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron... favorite authors? Anne Rice, Caleb Carr, Kate Ross, Thoreau and Emerson. I have a tendency to look for authors rather than books. I like certain styles and then I look for books within that style.
Heroes:
it is hard to find a hero... we are all human; we all have beauty and we all have fallibility. it's when we put one another in the place of hero we expect too much and are hurt when we realize their true beauty comes from their humanity.
