About Me

Well, Guitar seems to be my main claim to fame. I've been playing it for about as long as I can remember. I enjoy many many styles of music though I am truly Rock n Roll at heart. I have been very fortunate in my life to have my family and friends encourage and inspire me to play play play. My family......huh...what a bunch of mixed up nuts we are......is simply amazing. I would not be who I am or where I am without any of them. My father always, and I mean ALWAYS, played guitar and sang. So I was always around it. Of course I wanted to jump right in and play along but being very very young, well...I sucked. But mom and dad had a wonderful tolerance for me and I'm sure hoped and prayed that I'd learn to tune the thing and actually learn the chords that dad was playing. Somewhere along the line I think I got it worked out. Perhaps It was my brothers and buddies throughout life that convinced me that I could really rock on the thing, so I decided to enter a guitar competition and had some pretty good success the first go round'. Not taking home the bacon from the first one, I had to see whether or not I was just not that good or maybe I shouldn't have drank aaalllll that alcohol the night before the finals. So I went ahead and did one more. This time I had a bit more going for me. I had been playing out on a regular basis in a group that really gave me room to play. And these guys were really good. I mean we were doing Trancscendance by Santana from Moonflower, Red Hot Momma, If 6 was 9, just some great guitar stretchin' musical stuff. So I was really playing alot. I started studying with the "Yoda" of music, Ernie Chavarria, and let me tell you man...This guy really knew how to get in my head, heart, and hands and work on my playing and technical knowledge without screwing up my feel for the instrument. I am most greatful to this man because of what he has done for my playing and my person. Of the many lessons we had one thing I really remember him always talking to me about is Loyalty and a love for the brotherhood. I will never forget it Teach! So the playing was working out real well, I was working alot and hard and had a more level headed, down to earth approach to where I was and what I was doing. But really to complete the circle, I had met my wife. Man, the heart was in place and is now more than ever. There was no way that I was gonna lose this time or at least thats what I thought until I got there and saw the competition. GGGGeeeeeZZZZ, I was thinking uuuhhhh huhoooo....They were good and we were in L.A. and I'm up against some tough bastards......But that level headed thing set in and I had all the mojo there with me. Dad, uncle, wife, brother, friends, bandmates, and "Yoda". Well, I won it all there that night and took it back to Arizona with me the next day. One of the prizes was a full ride scholarship to to a music school in Hollywood. What ? A guitar school scholarship from a world wide guitar competition? In Hollywood? Seems kinda funny at first..."Hey man our judges think your great man, here's a scholarship to go to guitar school"....hahahahahahahahahahaha It was a little funny to me at first but It was another doorway. Well, me, the wife, and the dog packed up and moved to the coast. Did the guitar school thing, learned some things and met some really inspiring good people. After a few months of being there I met my neighbor and soon to be bro and bandmate, Steve Carlson. I think we just saw each other so much walking out with guitars all the time that It just was bound to come together for a jam sometime. Well, we became bro's and a spot opened up in Kane for a guitar player and he hit me up. No way I was gonna turn that one down. Fronted by my good friend Christian Kane I just couldn't believe I was gonna be working with these guys. I guess life throws you doorways and It's your option to walk through or leave it be. I am damn sure glad I walked through..................I thank god everyday that I am who I am and where I am. And for the friends I have made along the way. The things I've learned, earned, and lost and found have helped me to today and will carry me through tomorrow........... Peace, Love, Respect, and Harmony
