I'd like to meet:

From a young age Junior has always had a keen interest in a wide range of music. He was always spoilt for choice as a child for great music to listen to. His father would always be keen to introduce him to new music from many different backgrounds and cultures. He was brought up on such a wide diverse sound which included such great groups/artists as The Beatles, Guns and Roses, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, Queen, Pink Floyd, Chuck Berry, Marvin Gay, Santana, Robert Johnson, Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, The Beach boys, Elvis, Tony Bennett, Credence Clearwater Revival, Lenard Skinner, Jimmy Hedrick, The Clash but to name a few.As Junior grew with age he developed a taste for many different styles of music. These music artists all had one thing in common; they were all amazing and timeless. Through the early teenage years Junior has 3 older sisters to guide, introduce and provide him with all the latest types of underground music. This meant that Junior’s childhood would always result in him being ahead of his time. Before this he had only had a little taste at underground music and its existence. The pathway to drum and bass had been paved. He began by listening to ‘rave’ music which was swiftly changing to ‘hardcore’ as it was growing ever more popular with the majority of the youth. Midway through his teen years most of the older kids had already made the switch to drum and bass. It was simply becoming more favoured as it became more fun from its dark side past. As the first taste of ‘jump up’ set in Junior had taken to it very strongly. He had never heard such chunky beats and shocking bass lines. The combination was enough to grip any young urban music lover and hand them their ‘head nodding’, ‘bottom shaking’ fix. Junior had found that drum and bass was unlike any other music genre that had previously rocked his boat drum and bass had gripped him close to the heart and so strongly that he had never felt so much love towards anything before. He decide that he wanted to get involved in drum and bass and wanted to entertain people as much as the big names did to him on the tape packs he bought. Picking up his first pair of belt drive turn tables at the tender age of 14 for £150, he then set about buying vinyl and began teaching himself to mix. With the only form of income being a paper and milk round he would take great joy from inviting friends round to his home on the weekend to surprise them with his latest tunes he had worked so hard to get.By his late teens Junior had really grasped hold of mixing and began developing his own style and began making mix tapes for friend to play at their weekend gatherings. Junior was always unsatisfied and was always determined to keep practicing and working harder to get the chance to entertain people on a bigger level. He was also determined to looking to meet more like minded people. At the very end of his teen years a breakthrough accrued when he met 2 older but very like minded DJs from his home town. This would be the start of a journey he had always dreamed.DJ B-52 and DJ Sub-low took young Junior under their wing and decided that if he was nurtured and helped in the right direction he had enough talent to make it to the top. Having already played many massive raves such as Hysteria up and down the UK the knowledge the pair (B-52 and Sub-low) had for Junior would be almost vital in his route too success. Junior was always happy and eager to learn from the pair and collect vast knowledge and experience they had to offer. He began going to his first raves with the pair watching them perform to large crowds at large events. This gave Junior a great hunger to get a taste of the action. He began playing at his first events like Breakout and Ichi promotions in Blackpool and doing regular guest slots on radio shows in the North West. He would take any chances that would come available however big or small. He would take his records to every event or club night just at the off chance he could play. Since then Junior has worked hard to develop as a DJ as he has always had the desire and hunger to be the best at what ever he does as he has never believed in taking part.He has since developed a unique versatility as he has a love for many styles and flavours of drum and bass. He is considered part of the new bread of DJs that are willing to explore new equipment and entertain ravers as much as possible. He does not believe in just playing tunes. He has come a long way over such a short space of time as he has only been playing out on the scene for 2 years. Within this time He has managed to play at many big events and nights all over the UK such as Hysteria, Metropolis, Platoon, Witness the sickness, Quarantine and many more. He has played along side many of the scenes best artists. He has also currently undertaking a course in music technology (equivalent to 3 A levels) at Preston College in the bid to better himself in the world of music and music production. Junior is a born entertainer and thrives off a good crowd reaction. He currently holds 3 residencys at major nights in the north Metropolis, Platoon and Dellusion (Birmingham) of which he is always looking to build on... Junior’s word of advice to any up and coming artists “Hard work, good attitude and self belief is the key to success, talent is just a bonus”
