A-Felons are an extravagant group of young, creative, and determined artists that are planning to change and develop the Hip-Hop industry with unique style. A-Felons originally came about through freestyles in the park, open-mics, ciphers, and street battles. A-Felons consist of four artists that grew up together on the rough streets of Washington Heights. Growing up in poverty we applied our energy and time into the great genre called Hip-Hop. Three Dominicans and one African-American make up the powerful group of artists professionally known as A-Felons. The individuals that make up A-Felons are Don-V (27), Dalinkquent (21), Scooter (30), and M3 (27).
A-Felons bring unique styles of Hip-Hop with each member of the group. Don-V brings a fast and slow pace flow with an original voice that lights up peoples eyes and heart when they hear him. Dalinkquent, the youngest of the group, comes with his own way of wording his lyrics energetically when he delivers them to his audience with aggression and a heart-felt flow. Scooter delivers a flow that people respect highly because of the reality of painful experiences that blends into a narrative format of musical style. M3 brings a deep raspy voice that catches listeners ears, while he spits his conversational flow that has reflected through his outstanding choruses. The blend of all four artists is described by people as the Millennium Flow. With the large growth of Latinos in the Hip-Hop culture and the world today, A-Felons wouldnt have difficulties being successful and reaching the masses in the Hip-Hop community with our relentless hunger and love of music.
A-Felons are trying to accomplish history in a combination of Dominicans and the neighborhood of Washington Heights, which hasnt broken through in Hip-Hop in a mainstream manner. Hip-Hop is a big part of peoples lives who reside in Washington Heights, but we have yet to see an artist or group break out musically from the Washington Heights community and A-Felons is the best group to make history by doing so. With past success of artists Hip-Hop has opened doors for neighborhoods that havent been represented, which has turned out to be lucrative and of great impact. For example, Nelly for St. Louis and Master P for New Orleans have brought originality and success to Hip-Hop music and in representation of their community, which we are trying to accomplish for our Washington Heights community.
A-Felons have been featured on different street mixtapes and our own mixtapes Lps. We have distributed two Lps to the streets in popular stores like The World Famous Burkina on Houston Street, Harlem Music Hut on 125th street, Music House, and many more locations. A-Felons are putting the finishing touches on our next project The Conviction and distributing a demonstration compact disc to executives in the Hip-Hop industry. The Conviction features a total of eight up and coming producers with lyrics by A-Felons, and is engineered by DJ Pheel Reel that has worked with the likes of Sean P. Diddy Combs, Eminem, Ghostface, and the late great Big Punisher. We have developed our own label Predicate Entertainment & Publishing Inc. and were in the process of developing multiple websites as individuals, a label, and as a group. We have performed in various venues like Rhumba Night Club, Chaz Club now known as Cherry Lounge, Sugar Shack, Vasilon Night Club, Pyramid, Mezquita Sports Bar, Soundz Lounge, Quisqueya Sports Bar, Mirage, Jet Set Café, the Pyramid, SOBs, Club Bamboo, Inwood Manor, Club Bliss, Club Vasilon, the Annual Harlem Block Party, Candy Lounge, and many upcoming venues to further market ourselves.
While recording our upcoming album we became victims of police corruption. On May 10, 2003, two members of A-Felons and a staff member of Predicate Entertainment & Publishing Inc. were falsely charged with kidnapping, first, and second degree murder, which are A-1 felonies that carry a minimum sentence of 25 years. The case postponed the work on The Conviction album and prolonged for seven months until it was dismissed in December 9,2003, due to false testimonies of witnesses, corrupt police officers, and corrupt detectives. The criminal case brought the group more together and determined to succeed in our career in Hip-Hop music. We are looking forward to releasing The Conviction in the summer of 2006 with the help of a major label venture or distributor.
Washington Heights has a great history and we are trying to contribute to it by being the first artists to represent it in the Hip-Hop community. A-Felons are trying to bring something different to the Hip-Hop culture and music itself with unique sound and style. We are trying to deliver exceptional music to the world and with God willing everything is possible.
