Luis E. Damian (Lou Roc) was born in the Washington Heights area of Uptown Manhattan. He was brought up in a low-income, single-parent household. While growing up in an environment known for its drug trade, Lou struggled to preserve his focal point on what was his first love. He grew tired of experiencing the ruthless realities of his surroundings and became resolute to explore where his talents could take him; at the age of 15, he wrote and recorded his first Rap song.
Lou Roc has a vast understanding of music in general, he is at ease writing, arranging, and composing his own music. He has written over 150 songs of his own, released 3 street albums and has ghostwritten several songs for other local unsigned artists. Performing in several clubs, colleges & local events, Lou Roc has established himself as an entertainer, as well as a songwriter. Most recently performing at Club Avalon, in the heart of New York City’s Hip Hop club scene, where Lou Roc exhibited charismatic showmanship and an energetic performance that rocked the crowd.
Lou Roc has solidified many opportunities for himself, by strategically approaching the business aspect of the music industry. With his sly metaphors, paradoxical wordplay & in your face punch-lines, he has gone on to appear on several mixtape CD’s, which helped to create a tremendous buzz on the streets. Eventually, he collaborated with a few up-and-coming producers to record a street album, entitled “My Worldâ€. Lou went on to sell over 2,000 copies of the album through hand-to-hand sales.
Lou Roc’s ability to adapt to any track with no particular style to his flow allows him to touch on various issues, from your typical club scenario, to the challenges of everyday life. Furthermore, he has a charismatic personality, a fashionable street style, and a marketable vision which gives Lou Roc the potential to become the first Dominican Multi-Platinum selling Hip-Hop Artist.
