Born Carlos Borbón, into New York City’s melting-pot on January 26; is a first generation immigrant of Dominican descent discovering cultural diversity. After his parent’s assimilation in the United States, CB (as he is known to his family and friends) became aware of the lack of acceptance portrayed by his relatives and school’s friends. The first did not accept him for being American and the latter because he was Spanish; at times being called “Platano Powerâ€. Henceforth, this situation motivated him to make a change and his ambition for the unification of cultural diversity is clearly revealed through his music. CB alias Leña Capiqu, is a savvy lyricist with a charismatic persona whose rhymes are impacting and unforgettable bringing a clever pop-rap approach, while embracing a sing-along vocal style making his hooks incredibly catchy. His radio soap-opera style allows you to close your eyes and enjoy the audio movie. Being able to freestyle in English and write in Spanish, he becomes a great asset for a successful international crossover understanding both market places.As a result, Leña Capiqu’s struggle to be accepted, has motivated him to become strong-willed and determined to accomplish his diversified creative career; proving through his rhymes and creativeness that he is an eclectic artist bringing an innovative stylo to the Span-glish Hip-Hop genre.
