Lewis KeyKay : Updated 2007/2008 Biography :
In 2007 Lewis Keykay firmly established himself as a Disco Electronica resident, playing in the main room at the infamous Sankeys in Manchester. This night has given Lewis the opportunity to play a lot more of the music that he loves, such as Tech House/Electro. He has played alongside the likes of Mark Knight, Sebastien Leger, D.Ramirez, David K, Audiojack and many many more. Month after month Disco Electronica have been bringing in massive guest DJ’s and Lewis Keykay has been on warm up duties every time. This has sometimes been the early set, where he plays downtempo deeper tech house and sometimes the later warm-up set, where he gets chance to work the crowd up in time for the Guest DJ to take over.
Lewis’s Tech House sets have not only been a success in Manchester, but also at his other residency for Kissdafunk at Mission in Leeds, where he plays in the tech house arch, again playing anything from deep Electronica to Tech house. However this is not to say Lewis has turned his back on Electro. Still a massive fan of Electro and the Electro/House scene Lewis is still regularly playing gigs for both Kissdafunk on their various tours and other established Electro nights throughout out the uk.
Both Electro & Tech House will see Lewis Keykay playing in 2008 for the likes of Galaxy FM, Ministry of Sound, Kissdafunk, Sankeys and Ibiza, with confirmed bookings for all of the above, not to mention more work constantly filtering through.
2008’s focus however is again on the production. In 2007 Lewis had numerous tracks out on various different labels and has also in that time managed to establish his own record label, Moov Records. With top 10 tracks on DJ Download and a Number 1 on Xpressbeats, Moov Records really has got off to a fantastic start.
To bring in 2008 Lewis has just had a track signed to Raw Trax, a well respected Italian label who were more than happy to take on his new track, Low Tone and are eager to hear more of the same. 2008 is going to see plenty more productions from Lewis on various labels as well as his own and a number of tracks coming out on Moov Records. So watch this space.
