I THINK MUSIC
BiggaBush and Lightning Head are my two main musical projects.
From 92-99 I was part of Rockers HiFi and we did four studio albums and a DJ Kicks and toured Europe and the USA.
Since then I've produced various albums and remixes as BiggaBush or Lightning Head.

The new album "13 Faces of Lightning Head" is finally finished and will be out in the summer of 2008 with guest vocals from EARL ZINGER (Gilles P and Kruder & Dorfmeister's live MC) , CANDICE CANNABIS (NYC rapper from Bigmama Industries), BLANQUITO MAN (Up, Bustle & Out/King Chango). and LARIMAN (Calibre, Analogue Mindfield, Firehouse Skank).
The new Afrobeat 12" is out now on Lion Head Recordings.

Influences: Afro stuff out of Nigeria and Ghana in the 70s, Orlando Julius, Bala Miller & The Great Music Pirameeds Of Afrika, Sir Victor Uwaifo & His Melody Maestroes, The Ogyatanaa Showband...also Mulatu of Ethiopia and of course the Godfather, Fela.More longstanding vibes from King Tubby, Scientist, Byron Lee, Skatalites, Studio One, Freddie McGregor, Smith & Mighty, David Axelrod, Norman Whitfield, Barry White, Isaac Hayes, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, James Brown, New Orleans funk, the Meters, Robert Wyatt, Egg, Soft Machine, Miles Davis, Gil Evans, Duke Ellington, Mike Westbrook, Anthony Braxton, Nucleus, Mike Gibbs, Stravinsky, Messaien, early acid house , Rio Samba batucada, samba reggae, maracatu and coco...Current artists and styles I admire: Jimi Tenor, Maurice Fulton/Syclops, Joanna Newsom, Madlib, The Bug, Senor Coconut, Nostalgia 77, Stereolab, Ursula Rucker, Jazzanova, Baile Funk, Dubstep, Cinematic Orchestra, Diplo, Orkestra del Sol, Luke Vibert, Spank Rock, Gnarls, The Budos Band.

Sounds Like: The music I'm making is a hybrid of all the people I'm into...I try and make tunes that sound like a band playing in a studio who've worked together 9-5 for the last 10 years, like they used to in Studio 1 in Jamaica, even if it's not reggae music I'm making. Some of it's totally rhythm-based, as that's where I get much of my inspiration (in fact I have a percussion-only band that plays Brazilian, Afro and Cuban styles)....other tracks are more chilled and electronic.
