Philosophy always buries its own undertakers

About Me

I'm a novice Thomistic Realist, my interests are my Faith, Sacred Theology, Natural Theology, Philosophy in specific: Metaphysics, Ethics, Epistomology, and Ontology. I think the area of Thomistic Philosophy that I am most interested in is Angelology and Divine forms as necessary to the order of being.

My Interests

Like I said mostly Theology and Philosophy, I spend most of my days reading and studying. I listen to a lot of online lectures I really like Peter Kreeft a lot. His website contains many great lectures. its www.peterkreeft.com

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interested in Christianity, Philosophy, Truth, Goodness, and Beauty

Music:

I listen to mostly Jazz and Classical, because when I'm reading I find lyrics extremely distracting and I'm not as talented as others in music so chordal progressions, melodic structures, improvisation, composition and form don't distract me. All the big names, Miles Coltrane, Art Blakey, Monk, Basie, Parker, Getz, then Beethofen, Verdi, Haydn, Motzart, Chopin, etc.I think music is the most spiritual of all the arts for it is the least tangible and what is spiritual is not material at all but form or essence.

Books:

The Bible, Mere Christianity, The Summa Theologica, The Summa Contra Gentiles, The Great Divorce, The Unity of Philosophical Experiance, The Abolition of Man, Methodical Realism, Reason and Revelation in the Middle Ages, Nicomachean Ethics, Brave New World, Orthodoxy, The Everlasting Man, The Dumb Ox, & The Christian Philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Heroes:

Jesus Christ, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine, Aristotle, Plato, Etienne Gilson, C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton
