You scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan. You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

Music:

There are two kinds of music that I really like the first is anything that's singer/songwriter; Donovan Frankenreiter, Jack Johnson, Rufus Wainwright, Amos Lee, Damien Rice, G-Love and Special Sauce, Ray LaMontagne, Over the Rhine. The second is punk music, specifically Irish punk; Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, The Tossers. I'm also a big fan of Rise Against, My Chemical Romance, and Jimmy Eat World. But I also listen to a wide variety of music. Pretty much everything as long as it is original.

Books:

Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger, Frequently Avoided Questions (a book about church teaching), and anything written by pissed off postmodern/emergent church leaders.

Holy Rage

Holy Rage:"What is, therefore, the task of the church today?..."Faith, hope and love"? That sounds beautiful. But I would say courage. No, even that is not challenging enough to be the whole truth. Ou...

How the evangelical holiness movement became the evangelical church growth movement.

We discovered that in America, numerical success is the doorway to respect. We wanted to be accepted into the mainstream and we found that church growth gave us the chance. When the chur...

Blame me.

If the time comes when despair sees violence as the only possible way, it is because Christians were not what they should have been. If violence is unleashed anywhere at all, the Christians are always...

The God Centered Church

The loss of God's centrality in the life of today's church is common and lamentable.  It is that loss that allows us to transform worship into entertainment, gospel preaching into marketing, beli...
