I seem to have an odd fascination with rabbits, elephants, and monkeys... monkeys... monkeys. Now I know the rabbit thing is because I was born the year of the rabbit. The other two are just because I'm odd that way. I have two cats that ARE my babies... and plan to have more. So, of course, I have a slight obsession to feline art and oddities. Oh, and squirrels... I seem to have an odd fascination with cartoon squirrels: Foamy, Twitchy, Scrat, Hammy, Nutty... I haven't found one I haven't liked yet.
I have a growing collection of snowglobes in my studio. But they can't be just ANY snowglobe. There has to be something unique or special about them. I hate the cutesy kind with little babies or cheesy animals. I have one with a gargoyle, a few with dragons, A few with the Nightmare Before Christmas characters... and the list goes on...
I also love love love to collect just about anything with dragons involved. I have so many statues I think they're taking over my house.
I also collect masks and puppets from around the world.
... my first puppet was one from Malaysia, similar to below...

Larry Elmore - This man is the reason I got into art to begin with. I saw his work, and wanted to be able to do that myself. I actually taught myself to draw, as a child, by copying some of his work. He is quite possibly the coolest and SWEETEST person I've met. He was willing to spend 30 minutes on my lil adoring butt, answering all the questions my overwhelmed mind could think to ask. =} (below)
Luis Royo - This man is my absolute favorite artist when it comes to erotic art. He captures "sexy" in a way unlike any other I've ever seen. (below)
Michael Whelan - This man's art leaves me speechless. I've never seen anything quite like his work. I can only hope to gain the level of talent he has. (below)
Clyde Caldwell (below)
Keith Parkinson (below)
H. R. Giger (below)
Alan Lee - Both he and the next artist do pen and ink with watercolor like no one. (below)
John Howe (below)
Yes - I'd like to meet a dragon. I'm just odd that way. Of course, I'd also like to live through it - healthy and in one happy piece - to brag about it later...
I also very much enjoy meeting creative people of all varieties. In fact, my "top friends list" is a compilation of artists, poets and organizations that I admire and support.

Music is a HUGE part of what inspires my artwork. I find that when I listen to a song, I see images in my mind and want to get them out any way I can. I've been very lucky to have access to a wide variety of music throughout my life. Here are some of the groups that I adore...

Come on... As of December 2007, I have over 600 movies in my house (they're multiplying rapidly), and I love almost every one of them. Admittedly, some odd choices have been made. But I would say I love about 95% and the rest just amuse the hell out of me. I adore 'Nightmare Before Christmas' so much that I've made it a rule to only watch it between Halloween and Christmas. Otherwise I'd probably drive everyone around me nuts. Most of the time it's probably something along these lines...
Scifi -

I LOVE a lot of anime out there... movies, series... There are so many good ones, it's impossible to list them all. Some I have on this list, others are on my "Television" list. Just to name a few, I'd have to say...
Ghost in the Shell (series and movies)
Hellsing
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
Samurai Champloo
Blood+
Akira
Wicked City
Demon City
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
Other Animation -
Flight of Dragons
Incredibles
Toy Story 1/2
Bug's Life
Shrek 1/2
I could go on for WAY too long... Overall, I love anything that's done with style and obvious love for the story being told. I favor Indie films very highly.
Most things on TV now frankly suck, and there are just so many advertisements. What I do like I own, or plan to own. Just some examples...
Firefly
Star Trek (all of them)
Battlestar Galactica
The Dresden Files
Family Guy
Simpsons
Futurama
Twin Peaks
Deadwood
Mythbusters
Farscape
XFiles
Ghost in the Shell
Samurai Champloo

Full Metal Alchemist
Bleach
Cowboy Bebop
Home Movies
Robot Chicken
Mind of Mencia
Invader Zim
Other than that I'd have to say I mostly stick to watching The Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies, Discovery, National Geograpic, The Food Network, DIY channel, and the Scifi channel.
*sigh* Books... oh where should I ever begin?
Well, to start with, I seem to have a weakness for erotica... writers like Morgan Hawke, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Laurell Hamilton, and Christine Feehan to name a few... But I'm in full denial as to catagorizing them as "romance", which is where you'd find them in bookstores. psh! =} Oh... and I have to admit a certain weakness for yaoi... I can't help myself! One beautiful man is yummy, so why not two? Jet Mykles gave me my 'introduction' to the genre and remains a favorite. Rowan McBride, Barbara Sheridan, Anne Cain, and Michael Barnette are a few of the best as well.
I absolutely adore scifi and fantasy. Most of the time I lean toward Asimov (actually I'd even read his textbooks - the man was a genius), Douglas Adams, C.S. Friedman, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Raymond Feist, Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman are just a few of my favorites.
I also collect trade paperbacks (graphic novels) like Kabuki, V for Vendetta, Sandman, The Books of Magic, Witchcraft, Witchblade, Fathom, Vamps, The Nocturnals, Sin City, Xmen, and Usagi Yojimbo =}... various yaoi titles... I don't collect the comic versions as much as the TPs now though. They just don't last as long.
Click on the thumbnail below for a sample of a few pages of Kabuki.
On the more serious side of things; I have a growing collection of books on ethics and politics including Nietzsche and Postmodernism, The Prince, and The Communist Manifesto, among many others from Locke, Rousseau, and Mill. I also have a collection of esoteric books from Edgar Cayce, Dion Fortune, Cunningham, Buckland, The Dalai Lama... to name a very few.
