Michael Barnette started out writing gay cyberpunk erotica but has branched out to writing all sorts of erotica from gay, and bi to BDSM, menage and even heterosexual romances.
Michael's first erotic story, Zoner was a 2003 Spectrum award Nominee. Zoner-- which appeared in Wired Hard #3: Erotica for a Gay Universe from Circlet Press-- has since been reprinted in several versions, including an Italian translation published by Berbera & Hyde in their anthology Idols. It has been cricitally acclaimed by a growing number of reviewers and is now available in ebook format as part of the Through Neon Eyes monthly series from Mojocastle . The Wired Hard #3 anthology itself was a 2003 Lambda Literary Award Finalist.
The whole Through Neon Eyes series is being translated to Japanese via my incredible publisher, Mojocastle Press LLC. The ladies there are just terrific people. Thank you Empress Carrie, and of course to the World's Best Editor, Stefanie.
His first out and out romance title, Apocalypse Dance is currently available at Phaze . The first book of his Immortal Heroes series, Apocalypse Dance has received high praise from many reviewers and readers alike. It just received the Rites of Romance award for Best Book of 2006.
After a two year hiatus from writing, Michael decided to get busy in 2006. Here are some of the results.
From Phaze is the 'Snuggler' Heatsheet Midwinter's Night a m/m tale of murder, revenge and undying love as well as the just released sequel to Apocalypse Dance, Games Dragons Play , a BDSM heatsheet which is part of their 'Fetish' series. Also contracted with Phaze is another installment of Michael's Immortal Heroes series, Ragnarok Tango, a menage so hot and wild Phaze created their new 'supernova' heat rating. Ragnarok Tango was just released on March 26th.
More of Michael's erotica is contracted to Mojocastle Press . The first story out, All Hellos was released for Halloween and features a BBW, a vampire, shapeshifter and, of course, a monster. All Hellos is part of the Immortal Heroes series. Mojocastle is also the home to my Mercykill series. A suspense/paranormal m/m series about a Jrock (Japanese rock) band with a twist. The first book, Mercykill : Shattered Melody has made the official 2007 Gaylactic Spectrum Award Nominee list in the Best Novel category. My prior award nominee, Zoner is now the first instalment of the Through Neon Eyes cyberpunk erotic series mentioned above. The second installment, Control is out, as is the third one, Promise -Part 1. Also contracted with Mojocastle is a rather odd scifi erotica series about futuristic gladitorial games, GameNet. This series includes the origin story of my best known Immortal Hero, Bells. Watch this spot for more information on release dates. Mojocastle Press has also contracted my anime style yaoi/shonen-ai series about a young ronin, his kid sister and the samurai he falls in love with called Legend of the Autumn Wind. No release date yet but the artist has finished the cover so I better get busy and finish the edits.
Just sold to Loose-id is Queen of Carnage 1 and 2.
And with Midnight Showcase there are two novellas appearing in their erotic romance digests. First is Three Shakes of a Wolf's Tale which was published recently in Jaded Beasts 4: Horse and Sheep. A futuristic paranormal m/f romance with a quirky twist. Next is FE959 which appeared in Vamptations, an all vampire anthology.
I'm also pleased to announce that my friend, Auburnimp has sold a book to Mojocastle Press. No date for release yet but the book is listed on the site here . She also does some great book trailers.
