Honestly though...I am very open minded, so I don't care what I listen to. I have jammed to Beyonce and Mindless Self Indulgence in the same day. Sometimes, I just feel like a little ICP. What can I say? But lifelong allegiance belongs to - and is not limited to - these few bands: Cake, A Perfect Circle, Tool, The Cure (and other random 80's bands), MSI, 311, Incubus, Hed PE, the list goes on...
..This is automatically incomplete because as a deprived child of a southern baptist, I have not been introduced to such classics as Fear and Loathing or Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I have seen Half-Baked maybe once, but that was enough to become a favorite. I have not seen all of Van Wilder (1 or 2) but Waiting is the mad-stupid-bomb-diggity-dope-shit. Amityville Horror I would venture to say is better than any former version. Boogie Nights is as amazing as the main character's member. Seven and 12 Monkies, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Fight Club, even Legends of the Fall and Thelma and Louise (ALL because of Brad). Pulp Ficiton, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Beetlejuice (where i got the three most recent holoween costume ideas). Then Edward Scissorhands, Pirates of the Carribean, Who's Eating Gilbert Grape, Benny and Joon, Girl Interrupted, Prozac Nation, and Session 9. Oh, oh! and 40-year-old Virgin. hehe.
Comedy Central is the default station on my television. As soon as you press power, that is what comes on. Second in line is Adult Swim. Then, perhaps because I don't watch much t.v., VH1. Don't ask me why; I couldn't tell you. I feel thirty just knowing who is having the Best Week Ever. I know more about the 80's than anyone rightfully should. America's Next Top Model? I've seen almost every episode. But there is a reason behind this. I want to one day apply for the show, and then call all of those bitches fat until I am the winner...because by then, everyone on the show except for me will have regurgitated their intestines and will have been disqualified...or dead.
I work at a Barnes and Noble. I get 30% off... My favorites though, are all written by Chuck Palahniuk. If you haven't read anything by the man, you don't know what you're missing and I pitty you. Not the sweet way like "awww..." but like...I really pitty you. The latest addition to my book collection is the Shining - if you don't know who wrote it (or at least who directed the movie)...i just don't want to know you. sorry.
people that know how fucked up the world is and continue to enjoy their day. i mean really, not just fake-smile enjoyment. especially people who do it without help...from friend, family, or invisible entity. especially when they are human enough i feel i could one day acheive that level of enlightenment.
