Get Off The Cross, We Need The Wood.

About Me

Just about time to update this, don't you think?
I'm a geeky gamer goth girl. Other than alliteration, my happiest thing in the world is the sound of "point. click. dead." I have a thing for zombie movies and the worst of the worst films; Ed Wood is my hero. I like wine, and not to get drunk on.
I seek to know and understand everything in the universe and the saddest thing in my life is the knowledge that I'll die without achieving that goal. Fortunately, I also think reincarnation is possible and that one of these days I'll get it all down. I multitask too much, I wait until the last minute because deadlines make me work better, and I get hot for bad vampire movies.
I wear too much black, have a fetish for long hair, think the world is essentially a good place and that it can be redeemed by alternately forgiving people and putting the boot to their ass to make them think. I'm an idealist, a romantic, and very political.
Alternative Lifestyle. Alternative Gaming.

Gaming is love.

My Interests

Gothic Culture, Cooking, History, World War II, Medieval Strategy, Chemistry, Forensics (Pathology, Biology, Criminalistics), Quantum Theory, Philosophy, Learning EVERYTHING, trebuchets, string theory, musical notation, chaos theory, science writing, autopsies, zombie movies, horror flicks

On the lighter side: Dance, music, poetry, art, museums, concerts, mosh pits..

(there is a definite trend here...sorry)

I'd like to meet:

Some of the most wonderful people are the ones who don't fit into boxes, but the easiest ones to dispose of fit into three tiny ziploc bags...

I suppose someone in about the "Brown Plastic Jewel Bag" range is okay, too.

Seriously, though, I'm looking for friends who will never ask me why I want to know something--they'll understand it's the knowledge itself that I want. If you have to ask me what the application of my knowledge will be on the rest of my life, you're focusing a bit too much on the small picture...I tend to use crowbars to widen it until the big picture fits in.

Motto: It doesn't fit? Hit it with something. It will.

Not looking for: Bands, unless I like them; people to talk to me in l337, people who will talk to me in any form of chat speak, people who make my red pen hand twitch; Anyone looking for a date.

I am not available, though I'm flattered.

All of Life, Online, For Us

The Encyclopedia of Life, which has long required geeks like me to make several major treks to find out what's in it, is finally online. There are 1.8 million known species in our world. There are eve...

Ready to be ashamed?

Are you ready to be ashamed to be a journalist? I sure was.No, wait, I'm not. That's because someone like Michael Sneed of the Sun-Times isn't a journalist. She's a gossip-monger who was completely un...

Ugger-Buggers

The thought for the day, from my bookish self to you: 'The universe is, instant by instant, re-created anew. Therefore, there is, in truth, no past, merely the memory of the past. Blink your eyes, and ...

Weird Things

Weird things are happening to me lately. I'm patient, I'm coping, and I've found myself able to love not just one but multiple people more than myself. I'm willing to keep pressing issues and working ...
