Born on the South Side of Chicago, Mike “Streetz†Jones now makes his home between Chicago and Atlanta. Jones attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA. Upon finishing school, Jones went to work for “Uncle†Frank Chaplin, who worked as The Midwest Marketing Manager for Interscope Records and the M.R.M.A. (Midwest Radio and Music Association). During his stay with Interscope Records Jones worked with various high profile artists in the music industry. Artists included Eminem; Eve; Lox; Jada Kiss (solo album); Styles P (Solo Album); Truth Hurts; 50 Cents Get Rich or Die Trying.
Jones continued his work in the music industry with Def Jam Mid West Regional Ron Scott. While working with Scott, Jones was taken into the Def Jam umbrella. In 2003 Jones continued his work in the industry in Atlanta, GA. While in Atlanta, Jones took a job working with Def Jam South as a National Promotions Coordinator. Projects included DTP, Scareface & Too Fast Too Furious (Movie Soundtrack). After established success in the industry, Jones was sought out to work for Disturbing Tha Peace Records. His first project was working with a new artist from St. Louis named Chingy, who went Triple Platinum with his debut album, Jackpot.
Since being with Disturbing Tha Peace, Jones has worked on Ludacris Chicken and Beer & Red Light District; Shawnna’s Worth Tha Weight, Block Music & I-20s Self Explanatory albums. Jones also served as a DTP road manager on Ludacris Chicken and Beer tour and album promotional tours. Other tours include Roc Tha Mic (Chingy); Shawnna’s album promotional tour; BET Black College Tour with Playaz Circle & Ludacris promotional tour.
In 2007 Jones took on the responsibility of handling all marketing for Down Town Locker Room (DTLR) in the Chicago Market. During this past year Jones has helped brand DTLR as one of the most important lifestyle establishments in the City of Chicago. Jones has coordinated over several in stores events with high profile artist like Ludacris, 8 Ball & MJG, Kyshia Cole, and Rich Boy to name a few. Jones works heavily with all Chicago radio stations and DJ’s to make sure DTLR has the best visibility possible to their demographic in Chicago.
Jones is now set to work with up and coming artist Gaggie & Block Xchange under the new imprint Never Satisfied Entertainment. Block Xchange will be the first major release in 2008 (Disturbing Tha Peace / Def Jam).For Booking Please Contact: [email protected]
