I was born on march 1971 in Tokyo (Japan). I spent my childhood in Moscow but traveled a lot around Scandinavia along with my parents and my sister. Our father was an AEROFLOT manager that time and he was (and still is) great music fan. It was hard to find western records in the Soviet Union those days but it was no problem to find them in my flat. Tom Jones, Elvis, James Bond movie songs - these were my fave records when I was young. In 1984-1986 I spent my summer vacations in Denmark. I was so excited by New Romantics scene and when I was back in Moscow I started to play current western chart hits at my school disco parties.
After finishing high school I moved to St.Petersburg (Leningrad) to study in the Academy of Civil Aviation. The music was my biggest passion, so in april 1989 I..ve got the dj job at local disco club called TON STUDIO.
In 1992 I left St.Petersburg for Moscow. In 1993 I started to spin records in Moscow night clubs. I was the resident of the first real house club Hermitage and then moved to Manhatten Express venue where I spent six years of residence! I took the nickname "DJ VINT" just in respect of my aviation education (cause in Russian VINT means PROPELLER), later I was renamed by fans into OT VINTA which means START THE BLOODY PROPELLER. :))) In 1995 I became music and programme director of Radio ROKS 103FM with total network of 29 cities. I was russian host of Rick Dees and American Top 40, hosted my two very own radio shows "Golden Years" (history of disco) & club guide "Ultraviolet" (under nickname of Chilly Taylor). As radio director I was involved in support campaigns for tours of David Bowie, Tina Turner, Paul Young, ZZ Top, Boy George. In 1998 I became an A&R manager at Creme Records, where I licensed alot of music including hit singles by Run DMC, Donna Summer, Thunderpuss 2000, Antiloop, plus complied and mixed compilations "Ultraviolet" and "100 % Dj Hits" (combined release with PolyGram). In 1999 I organized B-Funky Productions & B-Funky record label along together with my friends from Russian pop group HANDS UP! (Ruki Vverh!). My activity was to bring our music to the West - as result, few of our songs were covered by major western artists and one of them (ATC "Around the World) was sold in 2 million copies by BMG (thanks to that time BMG boss Thomas Stein!). In 2002 I left B-Funky and started my own company RED HAMMER with fellow partner. Red Hammer became one of the strongest booking agencies in Moscow featuring parties with Boy George, StoneBridge, Martha Wash, Axwell, Panjabi MC, Antoine Clamaran, Subliminal Sessions etc etc etc. In 2005 I joined the team of Diamond Records Russia as A&R and licensing manager. I..m also editor of the label magazine.
Althought I..m a label manager, promoter, producer and songwriter, I still play music at nightclubs and travel around CIS & Europe with my dj gigs.
