Bobby "Upstate" Bernstein was born in Coral Springs, Florida in 1987 and lived in West Palm Beach, Florida for awhile. Then, he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and lived there until the first day of high school, when his moms moved him to a little town called Granville, New York. Thats where he's reppin right now, upstate New York.So where did music really begin with Upstate? The first rap song i remember hearing was Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise"(cheesy, I know, but bear with me). I remember chillin with a buddy and we were watching some mtv like kids our age did. Before hip hop, i was only exposed to the music my parents listened to, like country and classic rock.
But, hip hop grew on me. I started with coolio, then bought Harlem World off of a friend, then some Puff daddy (excuse me, "Diddy"), then that just opened a world of music to me. I loved how the sound was so different and unique. I taught myself piano, taught myself guitar, taught myself how to produce. I'm fly as hell. On the come up. Come get me.if you want to interview Upstate, contact: [email protected]
