Art - I would love to go to a real art museum someday; you know, the kind in big cities where everyone walks around looking like they have corncobs stuck up their asses. I'd be the "weirdo" in the middle of the room staring at the art and making less pretentious conversation that the rest of the folks.
Music - It has always been a huge part of my life. I love hearing a song and being taken back to a part of my past. I used to sing too (Key phrase - "used to") and I would love to learn how to play the piano. It's one of the most beautiful sounding instruments. My favorite one though is the bagpipes. OMG. I get chills hearing them being played. Or maybe it's seeing a man in a kilt that does it for me. LOL Nah, not really.
I work at least 45+ hours a week at work, I clean my apartment every day, I go to the tanning bed a good bit, and I do an hour of yoga almost every night. I like hanging out with my girl & next door neighbor, Michele. And I love spending as much time as I can with my beau, Joel.
I am a total car chick! I absolutely love them. The lines, the engines, the feeling of your head being thrown back when you stomp on the gas... WOW! I especially like Corvettes! The C6 would have to be my favorite, but the C3 is a close second.
I also like logic problems, crossword puzzles, and figuring out how things work. I like educating people on women's health issues as well (for obvious reasons). There is so much that is not understood or even known by the general population about endometriosis and other women's issues. Just ask me for info if you're interested in learning. I swear, as much research as I do on the topic and as much as I know, I shoulda been a doctor! LOL
Gerber Daisies are so beautiful! They're my favorite flowers!
First let me tell you who I am not looking for... I'm not looking for a romantic interest. I already have a wonderful man in my life who puts up with more than he should. We've been together a little over 9 months and are very happy with each other. So if you're just looking for someone to practice your bad pickup lines on or to get a little something-something, move it along! :-) Also, if you're always thinking of what you could get out of a friendship and not what you could give to the friendship, please keep on looking cause I'm not your type of friend.
Now, what I am looking for... local friends to hang out with; people I have things in common with that I can go out with alone and that Joel and I can go out with together. Artsy-fartsy type folks: bloggers, poets, painters, musicians, novelists, fractalists (I don't think that's really a word), and anyone creative. I love to network and talk to other artists!
Anyone that has ever been happy, been hurt, loved someone, lost someone, made a complete ass of themselves, or saved the day. Basically, YOU!
I'm a very friendly person and will talk with most anyone on most any subject, so add me or send me a freaking e-mail already! LOL :-)
I like all kinds of music. And I'm not the kind of person who says all kinds and means one kind. I like everything from Eminem to Sarah McLachlan to Mozart.
Who's in my CD case? 3 Doors Down, 30 Seconds to Mars, 50 Cent, Aerosmith, AFI, All American Rejects, Fiona Apple, Baha Men, Barenaked Ladies, Natasha Bedingfield, Between the Buried & Me, Clint Black, Blue October, James Blunt, Bush, Chris Cagle, Kenny Chesney, Citizen King, Coldplay, Counting Crows, Creed, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews Band, Deftones, Dixie Chicks, Eagles, Eminem, Evanescence, Ever Clear, Fall Out Boy, Fat Boy Slim, Finger Eleven, Five for Fighting, Fort Minor, The Fray, Nelly Furtado, Good Charlotte, Goo Goo Dolls, Gorillaz, Green Day, Andy Griggs, Hellogoodbye!, Faith Hill, Hinder, Hoobastank, Incubus, Alan Jackson, Jewel, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, Mat Kearney, Toby Keith, The Killers, Tracy Lawrence, Lifehouse, Lil Jon & the Eastside Boyz, Linkin Park, Live, Ludacris, Madonna, Maroon 5, Matchbox 20, John Mayer, Edwin McCain, Tim McGraw, Mark McGuinn, Sarah McLachlan, Jo Dee Messina, Moby, Mozart, Jason Mraz, Muse, My Chemical Romance, Anna Nalick, Joe Nichols, Nickelback, No Doubt, The Normals, Oasis, Jamie O'Neal, Panic! I have over 185 CDs! See? I am very eclectic.
No chick flicks for me please!! The "cotton candy" films like Lake House (saw the previews only) can just stay at the rental store for my part. Girly movies don't do anything but make you sad because the "perfect" people portrayed in those kinds of movies do not exist. We all (men and women alike) have our issues and our baggage. Real relationships take work and one thing I have to remind myself is that no relationship is perfect.
Dumb comedies like Dumb & Dumber and the American Pie series just seem to insult my intelligence. No thanks.
Give me a movie with war, fighting, and things blowing up and I'll show you a happy girl! I also like the drama and suspense genres. No horror movies for now either (but vampires are cool). Joel's trying to convert me on the horror movies, but Dawn of the Dead 2 really freaked me out and I still can't get Donnie Darko's rabbit outta my head!!
As of right now I have these movies: 8MM, Alfie, Along Came a Spider, Analyze This, Analyze That, Anchorman, Bad Boys, Be Cool, Blazing Saddles, The Breakup, A Bronx Tale, Cellular, City of Angels, Closer, Collateral, Con Air, Criminal, Dead Zone, Dirty Dancing, Dodge Ball, Dogs of War, Domestic Disturbance, Envy, Face/Off, The Fan, Frailty, Fried Green Tomatoes, The General's Daughter, Godsend, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Green Mile, Hitch, Jarhead, Kiss the Girls, Knock Around Guys, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Lord of War, A Man Apart, Man on Fire, Matchstick Men, The Medallion, Merlin, Monster-in-Law, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12, The Odd Couple, The Odd Couple 2, Paparazzi, Patriot, Pretty Woman, Pushing Tin, Red Dragon, Riddick trilogy, Rob Roy, Runaway Jury, Seven, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Silence of the Lambs, Snake Eyes, Snatch, Spanglish, Stuck on You, Suicide Kings, Suspect Zero, Swordfish, The Talented Mr Ripley, Troy, Twisted, Unbreakable, V for Vendetta, The Village, The Wedding Crashers, and X-Men 1 & 2.
Very Cool Art by Alain Viesca.
Law & Order (all variations: CI, SVU, and the original). My new favorite is The Closer on TNT. You should watch it sometime! And I love Sex and the City. I have the whole series on DVD. House is pretty cool too. Though it's not my favorite and I don't make a HUGE effort to watch it.
I should watch the news more, but it's always a re-run. Somebody shot somebody else, some company bigwig got arrested for getting too rich the wrong way, and some sports jock is doing drugs. Oh, the monotony!
My own! Well, not yet. I hope to find a publisher that will publish a book of my fractal art. Any ideas on where I should look?
Right at this moment, I could be reading one of several books... the topics of choice lately are Borderline Personality Disorder and the Mars/Venus series. I'm all about some self-help!
One of my favorite books was written by one of my best friends, Chris Ringler. He's in my Top Friends list as Munsonville Power & Light. Check him out and buy a copy! He's an amazing writer!!!
I like to read fantasy books. I've read The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind three times! I still need Chainfire and Phantom. I have the others in paperback, but would LOVE to have the hardbacks again someday. I also like crime scene investigation based novels.
Wizard's Rules from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series
Wizard's First Rule
"People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it’s true, or because they are afraid it might be true."
Wizard's Second Rule
"The Second Rule is that the greatest harm can result from the best intentions."
Wizard's Third Rule
"Passion rules reason."
Wizard's Fourth Rule
"The Wizard's Fourth Rule, he called it. He said that there was magic in sincere forgiveness, in the Fourth Rule. Magic to heal. In forgiveness you grant, and more so in the forgiveness you receive."
Wizard's Fifth Rule
"Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie."
Wizard's Sixth Rule
"The most important rule there is, the Wizard's Sixth Rule: the only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason."
Wizard's Seventh Rule
"Life is the future, not the past."
Wizard's Eighth Rule
“Talga Vassternich. Deserve Victory.â€
Wizard's Ninth Rule
“A contradiction can not exist in reality. Not in part, nor in whole.â€
There's not any particular person who fits into this category for me. I look up to hardworking, strong, independent, intelligent people. I also admire people who can go through the worst things in life and still maintain a positive attitude.
