Rize is an organization created to help today's generation gain a sense of belonging and self worth. We must dare to live! Too many people have lost hope, become desensitized and become complacent with their lives. Barely existing. Many revolutionaries and loved ones have given their life and fought the good fight for us to continue pursuing those very dreams they died to open the path to. Are we to lie down and give up??? No! We must pick up the baton and finish the race. Live our lives to our best capacity. We owe it to all the fallen soldiers and loved ones that met their demise , and most of all to ourselves and our children. Those that are going through pain and hardship should realize that if we weren't pushed to the gates of hell there would be no reason to RIZE to the mountain tops of heaven. We must reach out to the Almighty, look past all the negativity in our lives, reprogram our way of thinking, change our lifestyles and stay in prayer. We must pull forces together and help one another. Unite! We must educate ourselves and others. Knowledge is power. We must not allow the streets, hatred, envy, dysfunctional relationships, addictions , bad situations in life, and politics to destroy us from within, decaying our very fabric of character and integrity. Many of us are being destroyed from within without ever getting a chance to become truly complete. Racism and Classism still flares their ugly head in this day and time. Too many people are victims to racial hatred. Like Emperor Haille Sellasie stated "until the color of ones skin is as of no significance as the color of ones eyes... we will not know peace." Not only there is racism against other races but amongst our own people. We must abolish racism in every form through an example of united brotherhood and sisterhood. We must open our eyes and see the world as it is and see beyond all the illusions put in front of us. We must rise. Like Maya Angelou wrote “ …Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and eyes…You may shoot me with your words, you may cut me with your eyes, and you may kill me with your hatefulness, but still like air I rise…” We must grow. Become what we were meant to be.
