Rockstar Librarian :)

I have an irrepressible desire to live till I can be assured that the world is a little better for m

About Me

Here's my top 10 favorite things to do:

1.) Drink Coffee 2.) Take Photos 3.) Write Poetry 4.) Go to Concerts/Shows 5.) Swing on Swings 6.) Go for a Walk 7.) Go to an Art Exhibit/Museum 8.) Ride My Bike 9.) Try a New Restaurant 10.) Dance (to 80s, Indie, Brit Pop, Electronic, or Goth/Industrial)

I also have a lot of friends with artistic, film, or musical talent and I like to support them as much as possible. Sometimes that can make for a crazy schedule, but it makes me feel good to know that I can be there for them.

I am working on a book called "I am a Librarian." Check it out www.iamalibrarian.com and at the same time learn if your library has an instant messaging service. How cool is it that there are so many librarians who you can now ask for help right from your home computer?

If you want to know more...just ask me.

My Interests

Music, Photography, Poetry, Crafts, Cooking, Art, Museums, Native American Culture, Asian Culture, Tarot Cards, Finding Four-leaf Clovers and Book-making/repair. www.flickr.com/photos/iamalibrarianI also like good quotes. This one gave me a laugh... "If you can't convince them, confuse them." - Harry S. Truman

I'd like to meet:

People who are creative and can rock my world and, of course, other librarians and photographers.

Music:

They Might Be Giants, Nirvana, The Faint, Tori Amos, Frou Frou, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Bjork, Mandalay, Everything But the Girl, Radiohead, Old 97s, Rilo Kiley, Postal Service, The Doves, The Smiths, The Strokes, Counting Crows, Looper, Juliana Hatfield, Beth Orton, Placebo, Idlewild, Elvis Costello, The Pixies, Sheryl Crow, David Bowie, Suzanne Vega, New Order, Erasure, Grandaddy, Fugazi, Helmet, Smashing Pumpkins, Freezepop, Imogen Heap, Bloc Party, 80s music, indie rock...etc.

Movies:

Red Violin, Five Senses, Dead Man, High Fidelity (Pretty much anything with Johnny Depp or John Cusack) Little Women, Shakespaere in Love, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Television:

I don't watch much of it, but my guilty pleasure is the Style Channel and old episodes of Northern Exposure. Since I have been living with my sister, I have tendencies to watch some reality or competition shows. I would prefer music to the television anyday though.

Books:

Poetry, Spiritual, How-to, Reference.
Old time favorites: "Siddhartha" - Herman Hesse, "The Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior" - Dan Millman

Heroes:

Abraham Lincoln, Helen Keller, Ben Franklin, Harriet Tubman, Clara Barton, Rosa Parks, Jim Jarmusch, and Andy Warhol.
