Mary Alice had a baby and it looked just like I did.
The first popular song I remember hearing on the radio was Bonnie Tyler's-Holding out for a Hero in my Mom's car in OKC in about 1987. This song was also featured in the classic film Short Circuit II (When Johnny 5 get's all badass). The first album I listened to extensively was a tape of Bruce Springsteen's-Born in the USA in about 1989. So now I tend to like things that are dramatic, anthem-like, tragic, romantic (in the literary sense), depressing etc. etc. So here in no particular order are some bands I like: Cake, Weezer(blue and pinkerton), The Cranberries, The Smiths, Kid Dakota, They Might Be Giants, Built to Spill, The Flaming Lips, The Violent Femmes, Aqueduct, Of Montreal, Ozma, The Long Winters, The Mountain Goats, Aveo, The Rentals, The Pixies, Cursive, Drive-by Truckers, The Naked Trucker, Hank Williams, The Band, Anything James Jamerson played on, about a million other bands I dont want to list ..........
