Groove Or Die...

About Me

I'm originally from Sacramento, California. I've been drumming for 20 years, and I've been involved in making original music for 'bout 10 years. I've never gravitated towards the mainstream, although I was the original drummer in what was to become Die Trying, a short lived pop-rock act signed to Island Records. I left that project to form an original funk/rock/groove band called Downboy. We recorded an album and played well over 100 shows around California and Nevada before splitting amicably.
I gathered my resources and made the move to LA to attend P.I.T. at Musician's Institute. The experience was incredible, opening me up to a whole other technical side of the craft. I graduated in March of '07 and...
I've had the good fortune to play and record with Mike Stocksdale in LA, playing the usual shows at The Roxy, Knitting Factory, Highland Grounds, Room 5, etc. His album "The Hill" featuring myself on percussion, is available on CDBaby! Buy 1000 copies for yourself!

I also wrote a drum instructional book with my most favoritest teacher, Chuck Silverman, and it should be out very very VERY soon.
I moved to Portland, Oregon about 8 months ago. Why Portland, you ask? Good question. Don't come here. It probably rains too much for you, which would not allow you to enjoy how great this city is. Stay away, I'm telling you.I also make music on my computer under the moniker Deluge that I rather like... check it out here.
You Are Animal
A complete lunatic, you're operating on 100% animal instincts.
You thrive on uncontrolled energy, and you're downright scary.
But you sure can beat a good drum.

My Old Homies

Wow. I just found like 500 people from home that I haven't talked to in quite a while. It makes you stop and consider how you got to where you are, thinking about all the people you met along the way....
