A Little Fellow in a Wide World After All

About Me

I am an eccentric writer who's played the piano since age 6. The name "Sammie Sanders" is derived from two of my favorite fictional characters: Samwise Gamgee from Lord of the Rings and Winnie-the-Pooh (who lives under the name Sanders). I am a Christian, a conservationist and a peacemaker. I'm just an ordinary person who feels she has been given a gift and wants to use it to make as much of a difference as possible, whether it means making someone smile with my lyrics or inspiring them to do something pro-active for a worthy cause. Though I'm much more of a writer than a musician, music has always been an important part of my life, and if I can make a little of my own - a "joyful noise," more to the point - I'm happy. Mainly I'm just trying to put my writing out there as much as possible.

"We All Are Orphans Today" is a tribute I wrote to commemorate a truly great man, Pope John Paul II. The songs whose lyrics are in the links below are all parodies that I have posted on Epinions. I try to honor the original musicians and the subject of the parody with my juxtaposition, and my parodies are often more contemplative than funny, though some of them are just meant to be silly.
